Uday
It is not Kane and Able...

It should be Kane and Abel - your journalist should either have the minimum idea of the novels OR check the spelling before publishing.

Advani
by Rahul Krishnan on Jun 08, 2003 01:56 AM

Advani is a very straight forward man.
Todays Indian politics need such firm men
to deal with terrorism and such other issues.
Compare Ayodhya and Somnath issues. Since
we (Sardar Vallabhay Patel?) took a strong
decision to rub off all the bad memories/symbols
of the invader Gory and build the somnath temple back there, everything went smoothly. No riots. No problem!
But in the case of Ayodya, we(Nehru?) could not
take a strong stand. So we suffer even today.
So is the case of Kashmir. If we had
taken back the POK then itself, there wouldnt
have been this much problem I guess.

Surprised!
by Tanvy on Jun 08, 2003 01:28 AM

What a coincidence!
today only, Mr. Advani was accused of instructing to pull down
Babri Masjid, by none other than his co-accused
...and here we are hearing all this crap from Mr. Advani.
Frankly, I am impressed by his selection of books and authors - some
of these I have read too.
But nowhere in these books I was ever able to find out a
"How to pull a mosque down?" or
"How to massacre thousands of innocents by provoking riots?"
....list is long....
this is the problem of my dear country
that an accused is sitting as the Deputy PM of India
we cannot do anything.

Agg
He seems so down to earth...
by Agg on Jun 08, 2003 12:55 AM

It is really India's good fortune that India has got a political leader like him today. Compared to the Laloos and Mulayams he is surely much much mature leader, probably because he is so well read. Though I am kind of surprised that he did not mention Aurbindo's "India's Rebirth" or other books....may be because he is tired of getting called a "Hindu fundamentalist" for absoultely no reason. Thanks rediff for bringing out this interesting article...

Laloos, Mulayams, Rabris, L.K. Advanis are all the same, but they come in different packaging.
