Laws are same for everyone and everyone should follow the laws.

First let us clearly understand, what Internal security threat is. Spreading religious values is not a threat, but spreading religious haltered is a threat. Supporting a different country is not a threat, but supporting another country against Indian is a threat. So, anyone or any party spreading religious haltered should be punished. Banning a organization like SIMI is entirely upto the Government(elected by us) and SIMI can protest against the ban in Court. But Government should not punish one organization for breaking the law and let another organization go. Laws are same for everyone and everyone should follow the laws.

This is bullshit!

This is a downright biased propaganda material. How can rediff let such anti-national material be published on its web site? Not even one sentence made sense. The author is trying to equate SIMI with VHP. Show me one instance when VHP has supported terrorists, including Bin Laden. SIMI was distributing his speech in tape cassette form. All the interviewees are from Islamic institutions having biased notions about SIMI. The fact is we have sen plenty of evidence that SIMI is in fact a dangerous terrorist supporting organization that too in the field of education/universities, which can become an ideology imparting ground, hence they are rightfully banned and we have no qualms about it. It should remain that way for years to come.

SIMI and VHP
by Girinath Managari on Jul 24, 2003 07:07 PM

I am not an admirer of VHP but I will take it for them, as you compared VHP with SIMI, I can say that VHP never done any thing anti national, it will be stupid comparing VHP with SIMI, as SIMI is a terrorist organisation where as VHP is a group of Hindu extrimists who work for Hindus and not against their own Country.

so the phrase "A few are emphatic that SIMI is an Islamic version of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. " is completely wrong.

Fool's paradise

I am appalled at the number of apologist's that the SIMI has. Comparing it with the VHP is sheer stupidity. For all its faults and there are many VHP stands by Nationalism. Unlike the SIMI who believe in khilafat brought about by violent means.
Firstly the islamist's who believe in Khilafat are living in Fool's paradise.
Just take a look at the sectarian violence in Pakistan. Ask them to go live in the gulf. Will they recieve the same treatment as Arabs. The fact is Muslim's in India have had it better than most muslims in other countries.
The wise amongst them must realise this and not defend SIMI.
I am particularly appalled by Ilyas who says Khilafat is right because Mr Gandhi said so.Mr Gandhi had his own reasons.
To bring about Khilaft in a country like India would mean converting the 80 crore or so Hindus.
So Mr Illyas is that what u are aiming at?
My adice don't live in Fool's paradise . enjoy the freedom's India gives u.Thank ur starts ur forefathers did'nt move to Pakistan oh and yeah say Jai Hind every now and then. I am sure u will find it as invigorating as I do.
