The real truth on J&K - Part 1
by rafi ahmed on Aug 22, 2003 07:19 AM  | Hide replies

This is to dispute your contention that Pakistan did not pull out its troops according to the SC UN Resolutions for holding the plebiscite. UN Resolution of 13-08-1948 Part II - Truce Agreement, for the Pak side, Section A2 called for withdrawal of the tribesmen & non-residents & A3 called for withdrawal of troops under surveillance of the UN Commission. For the Indian side Section B1 stipulated that when the Commission shall have notified the Government of India that the Tribesmen and Pakistan nationals referred to in Part II A 2 hereof have withdrawn, thereby terminating the situation which was represented by the Government of India to the Security Council as having occasioned the presence of Indian forces in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and further, that the Pakistan Forces are being withdrawn from the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India agrees to begin to withdraw the bulk of their forces from that State in stages to be agreed upon with the Commission.

But what were Pakistani troops and NWFP tribesmen doing in Kashmir in the first place? Waging a just jihad against the hated Hindu infidel troops and citizens(as well as Kashmiri Moslems who were sympathetic to joiningg India). So you are on the wrong track when you deal strictly with technicalities and legalities( which don't favour Pakistan anyway). It's the whole despicable ideolgy and composition of Pakistan i.e the Islamic homeland plus a military domination of politics which will simply have to go, for any lasting meaningful peace to be achieved.

Kudos to Arvind and Rediff for presenting this absolutely "down to earth" analysis. The hype made about "peace" with Pakistan by Indian leaders and media is as illusive as a mirage in desert. Looks like Indians just don't want to wake up from their idealistic dream of peace with Pakistan. Daily Indian civilians and soldiers are dying; Thousands of soldiers are protecting India on the border, on what is said to be the most hostile border in the world and continues to be even today (due to our hate-filled Islamic neighbor) and here are these Indian elites talking about "peace" and baby "Noors". It is so sickening! Simply disgusting!

How any body can decide priority in belonging to a nation, to a religion, and human species?
Its totally stupid!
A man is human, belongs to a religion and to a nation in same time. So we cant sacrifice anything on any of those entitles.
What a man want he always want justice. So he should render justice to others too.
The reality is if you favour any of one you cant does justice to others.
If a religion tells to favour to own religion & dont give justice to others in my opinion the religion is totally fake.
Same things go to favouring a nation & ....
is it not contradictory the philosophy of nation mother and Vasudhav kutumbakam...?
People who have philosophy of convenience are hypocrite
they may be proclaim to be Muslim, Hindu, Christian and etc...
If you cant do justice to others you are not worthy to be called true human, belongs to true religion and to true nation.....
This is reality accept it or not it will not change....

Now if some body tell that Quazi told half truth and Lavkare told half lie.....
because Lavkare did not reveal the text of UN resolution.
and did not reveal all princely states who were left independence after Indian independence from british
Mr. Lavkare add in ur list Bhopal Patiala.....etc.
otherwise go to study more.
This time we need petience if we really need peace between two countries mud slinging.
Our deputy prime minister had allready realised that making atomic bomb and putting force at border could not change anything for India. I have allready told at many occaisions that if India estime that we can contain Pakistan by attacking we should attack.
Till now we have not done that then we should keep patience and make freindship.
In any situation we Indian needs peace after war or after freindship..........

Pakistans half-truth's and lies.
by Kaypiem on Aug 21, 2003 08:15 PM

On the above subject one writer has rightly claimed that we should not bother too much on pak since it is already getting "cooked in its own juice" with
relation to its standing in the world as one of the
leading lights in giving birth to Terrorists/Taliban
Al-qaida etc.Its future being what it is with the
country being deprived of real democracy one can only pity its present position and never to treat it on parity!
In so far as their success in PRO is concerned thanks to a part of our media who claim themselves to be "ultra secular" and there-by denigrate ourselves
at our own country's cost without realising whom it
hurts.

Pakistan's half-truths and lies

The biggest ever blunder was committed by Indira Gandhi by retreating from Lahore and returning the POW's without any agreement on Kashmir just by trusting that "thousand year-war wala" un-trustworthy
Bhutto. If only we had delayed returning the POW's
they would have been on their knees to release else
there would have been a civil war in Pak.
All these facts are brought out vividly in an
indepedent web-site in an article "secrets of a rogue nation" which gives a true picture of the present state of the country.

A Few Facts about Pakistan
by Karan on Aug 21, 2003 06:59 PM

The Pakistan Military machine has a one point agenda of avenging East Bangladesh - it is not Kashmir/at best an excuse.India is a negation of Pakistan as a nation state. The Pakistan military will keep this issue alive - the Indian press should stop romancing with the notion of a Pakistani peace initiative - its a fallacy.Musharaff could fire salvo's at India of the shoulders of Bhutto as her DGMO and also as the COAS for Shariff - on both occassions it was a percect cover - his strategic planning was and still is to redeem the Pakistani Army his nation - it is from this core issue that the Pakistani foreign policy is defined by the Pakistani military.Concilliatory gestures serve Musharaff well, aleast in the short term - the international community is of his back. Our politicians with their 5-year strategic perspective are simply not geared up to comprehend Musharaff. The solution is keep the pressure on Musharaff - it is the Pakistani military machine which is the centre of influence - After 5 decades being in absolute power our policy makers expect that they will abdicate their legacy - the Pak Military organisation machine is the fountainhead and it is a formidable foe.

Pakistan's half-truths and lies
by Yogesh Datta on Aug 21, 2003 05:39 PM

I have read constitutions of J&K and India. According to both constitutions even Parliament can not part with even one inch of Indian territory. Now question is how Indian politicians, especially Vajpayee, Media and some thick headed Indians are willing to give 40% Kashmir to Pakistan and 58 thousand square kilometers to China ? Is it not treason ? Why some Hindus are hell bent to appease Pakis and Chinese ? Think this scenario: When India handover half of Jummu and Kashmir to Pakistan then do these appeasers can guarantee us that jihadis will stop terrorism in Kashmir and they will leave remaining Kashmir in India ? Today, if India invades Kashmir it will be liberating Indian territory but after giving J&K to Pakistan India will be invading Pakistan. Pakistan will say the same thing "Kashmiris have revolted against India, we can do nothing". Do not write the death warrants of India by handing over territories to Pakis and Chinese, they will want more.

Pak's Na-Pak in mindset
by Praveen on Aug 21, 2003 05:05 PM

For once we got to take the Nuke attack, coz Kashmir or not , pak will find peace only by bombing us, even at the inevitable cost of its ultimate disintegration, & thereupon merger with India. That's what will happen, now or sometime in future, ie on the day we get a leader who will dare to dream & act for achieving this inevitable. And Pak's double crossing Kashmiri's is evident....
Pak's gift of over 200sqft to China reveals its thought over the matter. How can it gift land of - what it terms as - Kashmiri Land? Who are they to decide for Kashmiris?
