Mr. abhijeet i agree with you that Footpath are not not meant for sleeping but it is not also for a bad brad to drunk and drive on the Footpath and kills the innocence one.
IF THERE WAS ONLY INJURY AND NO DEATH -- THE CASE COULD HAVE BEEN SETTLED OUT OF COURT .
causing death of a person even by mistake is a big crime/ HOWEVER THE GOVT As well as the sleeping person also ENSURE THAT THOSE SLEEPING on footh paths should select a place where no vehicle can crack down -- FOR FOOTHPATH SLEEPERS - WHY CANT THE GOVT define some areas to sleep or open up the gardens for them for night sleeping / and ensure that these clean the gardens on daily basis / there by - both the work will be done - some will get place to sleep while the gardens will get free labour to water the plants and maintain cleanliness .Why doesn't the govt think on these terms . NUMBER OF ISSUES CAN BE SLOVED / BY MUTUAL HELP -- however Indians have a mentality of kicking others instead of helping .
Abhijeet a one time old forgotten singer says why the people were sleeping on the pavement and pavements are not for the purpose of sleeping. Well, that even a fool or a kid understand. If he thinks that way why then those who were injured and dead were provided housing? If Salman is doing charity for any other purpose he should have thought better to build house for the poor. I am sorry a decent and a educated man is expressing his views like a fool as if he is not aware of the life of the poor people living in Mumbai. Everything said and gone now let Salman have rest behind bars for 5 years. He should be thankful to the court for not giving him sentence for 10 years which actually is the punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Somebody should ask this idi0t that whether as per him are the footpaths even meant for walking or not? As a car driven by a drunk rich spoilt brat may even kill a pedestrian.

this idiot dont know the difference between pavement and the road. He say he was homeless for one year but did not slept on the road. Can he tell us where he stayed and sleep then ?
I'm being a bit harsh... but please understand that people sleep on footpaths / pavements not by choice but due to circumstances. Like, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are made to hear some donkeys singing songs..... got it?
