Asujyot please stop abusing south indians. Indian history like bollywood is dominated by the north indian narrative. always has been. South indians in bollywood are only there to be made fun of. Kuldakuldi has been very polite in pointing out how south indian contribution has been consistently ignored in history and similarly reflected in bollywood. There is no need for your abusive behaviour.

first of all north indians think they alone fought for independence and south indians have zero contribution to it. 1:you people think jahnasi rani is only one who fought against british.but kittur ki ranu chennamma of karnataka not only fought against british but won war against them an d eventually defeated and murdered by cheating in subsequent battle
2:do u know the great warrior of karnataka sangolli rayanna who sent shivers down the spine of britishers and eventuallt caught and hanged like bhagat singh?
3:everybody thinks that shivaji the great is the only warrior who defeated mughals.but do u know the great krishnadavaraya who ruled vast swathes of karnataka and andhra defeated mughals and made them to fear conquering south?
4:do u know hyderalis army was made to retreat by none other than a chowkidars wife vanake obaava who killed thousands of his soldiers.
5:do u know how many millionaires in south india lost thier fortune and lireallly came to streets duing independence?
6:do you know south indians in indian army are almost 30% of the total?
7:have you ever thought how mughals conquerd whole of north india but unable to conqer maharastra and south india because of shivaji maharaj,great krishnadevaraya of karnataka,hoysalas,and cholas.

We have always seen south indians (anyone below maharashtra in geographic position!), bengalis etc caricatured in bollywood. it fun up to a point, if take-in the right spirit. But yes whosoever said it, is right. Bollywood genuinely lacks original imagination.

Don't have anything against Punjabis. But Bollywood behaves as if there is no other culture. Not only characters but pure Punjabi Songs and music have become a big headache. Yes tunes are catchy. But how many of us understand the lyrics? Even in the background its "hey Punjabi". It has more become Pollywood than Bollywood. Other cultures are brought in just to ridicule them. Southern is comedy, Marathi is comedy or corrupt. Can we come out of our fixation and deliver some real Indian movies?

Very well said. Very balanced comments. That's true India. Agree with you in letter and spirit. There was a time when Bollywood was ruled by the likes of Bimal Roy, Basu Chatterjee, Rishikesh Mukherjee. But how many mainstream Hindi films with blatant Bengali content have they produced? Films like "Golmaal", a gem of a film has been given by Rishi-da, a Bengali director. But todays Punjabi / North Indian directors, producers cannot think beyond Punjab.

I am not a Maharashtrian But i surely prefer to see marathi films over hindi films because of its solid content... Maharastrians can take pride in having one of the best regional cinemas in the country!!!
in where we can see all culture movies except this punjabi movies. It's a headache to see punjabis beating their chest like anything just for show off.
Bollywood movies are watched by the whole of India then why showcase only the Punjabis, its time the Maharashtrians wake up and kick the Punjabis out, its time other states are given equal representation in Bollywood, the same fairly land Punjabis movies are becoming a headache
