Reporting of crime
by Kamalbehari Lal on Mar 04, 2014 01:33 PM

The presentation was good but no practical suggestion were made. I suggest if some NGOs or lawyers take responsibility of writing FIR (first information report),email it to SP or DIG and send one copy to concerned police station by registered post. Then Police will come to investigate and file First investigation report. Also if police case is turned down by court an adverse entry should be made in Inspector's CR. Government attorney should be paid job and he should be permanant employee.

Govt. system will take it time to change the law. But public will be aware and they will force the agency like Police to file FIR first and if not can aproach higher authority and can force doctor for early treatment of patient.

End to end solution
by AMIT GANGULY on Mar 03, 2014 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

What I like about this talk show is the solution that is identified and put forward. It truly helps us to understand what can be done to stop this and not just talk about it and feel sad.
This is truly the most effective pattern to work on. what we have is great ideas and plans but what we lack is the need for implementation and most importantly a monitoring mechanism that will ensure the great plans and ideas are effective and yielding the right results.

Good but

it's good Aamir is airing all the evil things happening in the society and in India at large. But why is he not covering all those incidents where innocent people are booked by unscrupulous people in the society like DV, 498a, Rape, 420 cases, cheque bounces etc. Doesnt he think his responsibility lies to expose these cases which are misused widely in India?

Media to play the lead
by Srinivasan Krishnamurthi on Mar 03, 2014 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

When police not cooperating the victim in registering the crime and arresting the culprits, the doctors not executing their solemn oath, and the courts inordinate delay in nailing the culprits all due to the brilliance of money minded advocates, it is for the MEDIA to come to the rescue of the victims by attracting the common public for the cause by exposing the abettors (including the advocates, police offcials and the judges in giving numerous extensions for the case) along with the culprits. Also if the Media (collectively) feel they should totally avoid other news items and only over the court cases. Media, please wake up and
think over it - it is our second freedom struggle after 1947.

True, but Media plays dirty - they are even worst, I have a very bad experience.
My brother got killed by some goons, the police is reluctant in taking action against them (as some big head involved) - very good support from people, but media had just published the news one day and done - no follow up, no pressure build nothing - and I experienced it first time but it is very common

there are other issues too
by attacker on Mar 03, 2014 11:36 AM

indian media, shows like this one, talks mostly about rape or violence against women... even though, india is ranked around 50 in rape cases.. US and European nations are toppers in rape cases.. but, they don't defame their country all the time like we do.. there are other serious issues that are increaing in india like kidnapping of kids, mis-using of rape or dowry laws, suicides of farmers... but, very less attention is given on these issues.. self proclaimed moral media and these shows are only concerned about their trps not nation..

Change
by Ramesh G on Mar 03, 2014 11:32 AM

First of all instead of putting the blame on police, politicians, film makers, ad makers etc., we should ask ourselves are we really a civilized and law abiding society? Do we really go and help others when they are in trouble on our own? we have become callous and selfish and we expect the system to change. Daily we see people ignoring small rules like traffic rules and in case they get caught they pay a bribe and get away. Does this not instill in them the confidence that they can do anything and bribe and get away? What i have written may offend a lot of people but then truth always is harsh.
