I had always taken rediff review very seriously and would decide to watch the movie or not based on it. But I regret doing this for Holiday and watching so late. I thought it was entertaining and a fantastic movie minus sonakshi sinha and her scenes. There was no sense in your review. Thumbs down for such a misleading review.
Fantastic movie. I loved it to the core. Seems south directors has more intelligence for sure. Mr. A.R.Muru ga has done a great job. Raja sen better luck next time, now you are loosing credibility as people will just take opp. of whatever you say. No sense in your writing. sorry that is the truth.
Holiday is entertaining, fast paced thriller which received all the whistles, cheers & claps from audience ! its super hit, which says Akshay is Back! I think rediff should moderate reviews which are published here more than our comments!
Yes I would refrute certain other things you said...About the plot being way to dragging/boring... Let me highlight few facts. 1)Screen time for akshay's 12 men team tracking and shooting the terrorists was very short and too the point.. did not last more than 10mins 2)Climax action/thrills did not have a screen time of more than 15 mins... After exterminating the sleeper cell leader, the next sequence shown was the main (traitor) forced to shoot himself. This could have been much more detailed just like you had imagined ARM direct Tom Cruise in an MI action sequence. 3. Screen time was also saved by not showing details of how the terrorists ended up in wall closets. Many such vivid details (which can be judged by common sense) was either edited out or not shown. so hats off.... Like wise every part of the plot was very fast paced and had a lot to show. So Hats off, to the plot and Cheers to the Holiday Team... and to you sir,,, Being a Critic you should never be off duty by being truthfull and think of the MASSES who would like to watch the Movie...
and yes one more thing, do you really think the plot was too slow.... for someone who watched the movie and not \"bits and pieces\" of it before commenting... would find it quiet fast paced...I will highlight some facts.... 1)it did not take more than 10 mins of screen time showing Akshay and his 12 men team to map terrorists one to one, track them and shoot them. In fact this sequence was very intelligently made. 2)The climax action sequences didnt take more than 15 mins of screen time. 3)It cut short and saved screen time during the climax too, when akshay kumar forced the main villian, Zakhir Hussian(actor), to commit suicide. It could have shown in detail (as you had imagined ARM directing tom cruise in MI),,, instead after terminating the sleeper cell lead, the next screen was a few secs of screen time just showing the traitor shooting himself.....
like wise, I didnt find any bit of the movie dragging and BORING except for the romance/songs that indeed need to be cut out...atleast one song needed to be eddited out and placed in a supplementary music album... but yes I feel those might have been needed to attract a certain mass of audience who come to see songs and dance exclusively... So good effort and cheers Holiday crew...
