ANR
by acommentor on Jan 22, 2014 04:55 PM

Truly a legend, noone else can have that many kinds of roles played by ANR. In particular many of his films from 1950 to 1975 were of family story type and were gems.

I never knew Akkineni Nageswar Rao waged a war to occupy lands! Assuming the bifurcation, you Telangana people/blind followers of KCR, KTR, Gaddar... will weep after twenty years on why the state was divided.

He purchased them. Do not divide actors on the basis of region, caste and creed. Be above narrow minded politics. We are first INDIANS next others. Even if TELEGANA COMES, WILL POOR BECOME RICH? CORRUPTION IS EVERYWHERE IN INDIA. DOES NOT MATTER IF INDIA IS DIVIDED INTO 100 STATES. Come out of your dreams of RAMA RAJYAM IN TELANGANA.SEEMANDHRAS would be more happy if TELANGANA state is developed. Why speak in hurry when TELANGANA STATE IS GOING TO BE REALITY. LETS WAIT AND WATCH, how these so called Telangana leaders would develop Telangana.

ANR, the last among the South Indian Super Stars to leave us
by MavinCKarnay on Jan 22, 2014 03:29 PM

Over a period of time, the passing away of South Indian Cinema's Superstars MGR, NTR, Rajkumar, Shivaji Ganeshan and Prem Nazir had created a 'near-void' for South Indian Cinema. We, the yesteryear movie lovers would however feel reassured with the thought that ANR is still with us. Now that ANR has left us, the void is complete, and we feel orphaned. However, their performances will always be close to our hearts, because, their movies, let alone being entertaining, would always convey good morals and values, and as such, will continue to be a part of our lives. I pray to the almighty that the noble departed soul rest in peace.

Regarding the demise of great legendery actor
by SATYANARAYANA MURTY on Jan 22, 2014 02:35 PM

ANR is the greatest actor ever known and much comparable to Dilip Kumar who also played Devdas even Dilip Kumar appreciated the role of Devdas played by ANR and gave him credit that he is a great actor in that role better than him. ANR used to play dramas(Female Characters) and he also came to my village in ANGALURU(KRISHNA DISTRICT) A.P. during those days of 40's. My grandfather used to see him playing the roles fantastically. May his soul rest in peace --DUGGIRALA V.V.SATYANARAYANA MURTHY.

ANR was one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema known for his sensitive portrayals of difficult characters. His Devadas is one of the best......they don't come like him anymore......a great thespian will be missed. RIP.
