Mahmudabad is a "real" (not fictional!) town in UP, 60km away from Lucknow. Go look it up, Mr. Sen. Good review otherwise, completely agree! :)

A stellar of a film !!! No doubt about it. I cannot remember when I last enjoyed a Bollywood film as much. This is far better than Ishqiya. Those who have found the film boring and have left derogatory remarks on this review are the dim witted fellows who make films like 'Ra-One', 'Chennai Express' and 'Dhoom 3' blockbuster hits. Nobody but a mentally retarded would find this film boring.
