Many scenes are not accurate. Its not Duryodana or Dushasana names are WRONG. Its actually Suyodana and Sushasana. After the death of Karna suyodana hid in river to meditate later krishna orders bhima to challenge suyodana and bhima insults calling him caward then suyodana comes out of water to fight with bhima. Krishna signals bhima to hit him above thigh
The serial was good, but both the versions were based more on the emotional content of the mahabharata. A more balanced narration was required.
I just wish some one would make the mahabharat with emphasis on action - we could have fast paced war scenes woth chariots like in ben hur, Also the interpretation cud be different - say using KL Munshi's books as a reference point and then make an action packed war scene like mahabharata.

i am really interested in watching this serial again. starplus must consider it seriously and telecast the same serial once again. its not just mine the people are demanding it to telecast it again.
Mahabharata was just so wonderful. The preachings of Lord Krishna were outstanding. I won't mind watching it again if the same is telecast again during prime time.

It is being telecast on Star Utsav channel at 11 PM. Really, the preachings of Lord Krishna were outstanding.
Well done Team Mahabharat! This serial was in someways different and it had a new look. Many actors esp. actors who played Krishna, Bhishma, Shakuni and Duryodhan did an excellent job! Congrats!
Mahabharata is very famous in many countries in erstwhile Greater or Akhand Bharat also in Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Yunan, Vietnam, Laos etc. Its a great epic and symbolizes the triumph of good over evil . It showcases the all powerful Lords interest for betterment of Human Race and his involvement time and again through his appearance through various Avatars. This epic also emboldens the spirit of Hinduism and the moral of the story is far more appealing that Dharma prevails. The story of MAHABHARATA will be told , retold upteen times till the end of this world. Jai Shri Krishna

Both versions were good in their ways. The old one was shorter than this one. It was 45 mins actual telecast for 94 episodes. This is 22 min actual telecast for 267 episodes. So obviously the new one is longer. Shri Krishna's teachings were outstanding. The only criticism that I have is that they omitted a few characters and changed the story a bit. For example. Kripacharya and Kritavarma were the two characters who were active in the battle and survived after the battle. They were present when Ashwattama killed the Upapandavas in their sleep. Bakasura episode was omitted. Shikandini also survives the battle and is killed by Ashwattama on the 18th night. Urvashi's curse on Arjun for him to be an eunuch for a year is not shown. The reason why Arjun could not be recognized was because of the powerful curse.

I endorse this. When Arjun as Brihannala can not be recognised by others, the viewers could recognise. To make it more effective, Brihannala could have been acted by a female actor!
