Both versions were good in their ways. The old one was shorter than this one. It was 45 mins actual telecast for 94 episodes. This is 22 min actual telecast for 267 episodes. So obviously the new one is longer. Shri Krishna's teachings were outstanding. The only criticism that I have is that they omitted a few characters and changed the story a bit. For example. Kripacharya and Kritavarma were the two characters who were active in the battle and survived after the battle. They were present when Ashwattama killed the Upapandavas in their sleep. Bakasura episode was omitted. Shikandini also survives the battle and is killed by Ashwattama on the 18th night. Urvashi's curse on Arjun for him to be an eunuch for a year is not shown. The reason why Arjun could not be recognized was because of the powerful curse.

I endorse this. When Arjun as Brihannala can not be recognised by others, the viewers could recognise. To make it more effective, Brihannala could have been acted by a female actor!
no matter what part you make, the Mahabharat educates the values & the grate purpose of life. as long as we take these educations just for fund & to earn money non of us will get purified no matter even you perform the part with best of abilities.
pl. do not use our values, our literature to make mockery of it & to make money out it.
If you take it with proper consciousness & attitude it will change your life to become happy in this life & future life.
No one can evaluate Mahabharat the great epic, but everyone having freedom to see on their eyes and express. But the present Mharabharat captures the attention of our kids with the good graphics and special effects. It is good.
The director should be congratulated for presenting a cultural mockery. It seems that he made Mahabharata just by looking at the ability of his mind to think and what happens in the families of his dears/relatives rather than taking the help from the original epic. Such illiterate person should not be allowed to make any religious serials and presenting the same in the form of mockery.
