Justice Katju seems to have an opinion on anything under the sun. Interestingly, no one holds him accountable despite holding such glorified post. Fire him and get someone more level headed and with respect to the constitution and supreme court.

Pardon for what
by Alan Roy on Mar 22, 2013 12:38 PM  | Hide replies

Samajwadi Party and National Congress Party are asking for Sanjay Dutt’s pardon. Justice katju is also recommending for Sanjay Dutt’s pardon.
SP and NCP is a group of criminals and they know what Sanjay Dutt’s feelings. Tell me a respected leader from SP who can be emulated by the young generation. Likewise except RR Patil show a leader from NCP can be a respected leader. Now they are asking for pardoning Sanjay Dutt. Justice Katju’s letter to the Maharashtra Governor is the funniest one for pardoning Sanjay Dutt. The Indian public cannot expect such a reaction for a Justice. Why he is not doing for innumerable people are languishing in the jails with petty matters by accident. The hapless people are the breadwinners for their family. It seems he is impressed with the money and power of Sanjay Dutt and Justice Katju thinks that he should be left alone to have an impressive and lavish life. We should be grateful on one demanded Memon’s pardon. Of the 32 persons who have to undergo life imprisonment have also families and perhaps some of them have eligible for a new life. Will anyone demand for their pardoning? No one do that because they are not famous and have much money.
One thing everyone should think is the 250 plus persons died and the 700 persons injured and most of the injured with lifelong sufferings. What mistake the hapless general public done for this sufferings. Any religion is demanding in such punishment. Atleast Indian law

Katju is making a fool of himself everyday.Wonder how he had become the. Chief Justice of Supreme court. He is insulting the Supreme Court which has ordered Sanjay to a 5 year jail term. The media is the culprit in projecting Sanjay as some big national hero.If justice had been swift,he would have completed his sentence by now and be a free man.Because it is slow,he has enjoyed the freedom all these years.Who cares for the victims and their families? The media does not show them but shows that guy Mahesh Bhat crying for mercy for Sanjay. We must respect the law of the land and no mercy should be showed to guilty in terror crime.

Dear Katju, please do not loss u r respect by supporting a criminal ! As u r a Law student, u should faith in our constitution. Sanjay is not a criminal / terrorist as said by you, nothing new to anybody, but as said, He is always facing problem since 20 years to take permission from Court to for Film Shooting abroad, he has two small children, he is from a respectable family etc. Then, why he was keeping a weapon even after he has the license pistol for self defence. SC already given him so much excuses being a famous personality, by giving him bail till the next judgement, by reducing jail term to 05 years. Can u tell from u r experience, who the common Indian got this type of freedom ? Then what else he can expect ? Justice is not for same to all Indian as per our constitution, is proved by SC now.

Indian laws and judiciary if for rich people only, because (i) ordinary people do not have the means to afford a lawyer (ii) rich people can drag a case for 20/30 years (iii) it is evident that cases on influential peoples are decided quickly

Almost 90 percent people visiting in courts with pending cases are the poor people only.Indian judiciary and democracy so far has functioned to crush the poor and lower caste people by upper caste and rich ones.
