Everybody should respect SC verdict
by Gopalakrishna Pillai on Mar 22, 2013 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

There is no need to give much importance to Sanjay Dutt as regards this SC verdict is concerned. He is just an Indian Citizen like others. Keeping an AK-47 is not a ordinary case. Investigation Agencis and our Judiciary has done a splendid job for which we all should be very proud of it. It is duty of every citizen of this country to respect our country and it's judiciary.

Right ! And it is also the duty of every judge to remain nonpartisan to all accused and to be mindful of the huge delays in giving verdicts in all cases.

Technically the punishment is justified. But it is also a a fact that he was in no way connected to 1993 incident.

I appeal for mercy for this person.

Mercy is relevant in case of a death sentence. Otherwise, every pick pocket, thief and petty criminals will rush to the President.

Pranab cannot and should not interfere here. If he dares to interfere, then there is a long line of convicts who must also be showsn the favour. Sanjay will surely finish off the 3 year sentence with ease and come back to the cine industry.

Presidential pardon is only last resort for capital punishment. For jail terms there is nothing like presidential pardon. If SC says serve 3 years, nothing can stop that.
