you right the only think it didnt have was a concrete plot, direction, acting and above all a story
I will definitely vote for Sholay. It has everything that an average Indian cinema goer wishers for a lot more than what a serious cine critic can look for. Every artist did their best. Every scene is as glorious as the other. Kudos to the makers, actors and the audience who showed the world that they can support and sustain lavish films.

How about "the Magnificent Seven"? From where the story theme was lifted? The basics, small town, bandits and hired gunfighters?

That was the original ending but like everything else in this country the Gandhi family messed it up with their autocracy.In this case it was that idiot Sanjay Gandhi.
