This is rediff list. DDLJ may come in top 100 but not in top 5 and that too nmot because SRk acting but only because of songs.Chandni is hundred times more better than DDLJ. Guide and cult commedy classic Jeene bhi de yarro should be in top 5

SHOLAY is the only and only movie that every character of this film got hit...even small role character like Soorma Bhopali, Jailor, Hariram Nai, Kalia, Sambha, even animal Dhanno...Right..DO YOU HAVE ANY HIT MOVIE and remeber all character???? 2. It was not based on any historic topic like MughaleAzam etc. 3. It was not totally romantic like DDLJ 4. It didn't take support of very good songs like DDLJ or any other movies made for Rajesh Khanna and Sharukh ...without good songs their movies are rarely hit. 5. It didn't have very costly sets as we saw in MughaleAzam. 6. It didn't have any social topic like we saw in Sujata.. 7. Sholay showed...Emotions, Bravery, Romance, Sacrifice, Comedy, Revange, etc. 8. Its dialoges are evry hit compared to any other movie even movie from Big B which had the records of hit dialogues.
