Jaya has clearly stated that she has no issues with KH. her concern is Law and Order. So attributing non-existent issues to a problem is likely to be because of misunderstanding or ignorance. Either way, calm and sensible approach is best to move to solve any problem than emotionally charged absurd outbursts. And as far as this out bursts are concerned, KH, Leela Samson etc are sadly on the wrong side of the issue.
Nice to see KH is calming down and deciding to solve the issue. All the best to KH.

Pakistan clearly states that they don't send mujahadeens to India and that their concern is only to provide moral support to the freedom fighters of Kashmir.
If you believe everything what people say you are the biggest fool on this planet.

Jaya Ma'am CLEARLY said, just before the state elections, 'She will be on the side of Kudankulam protesters'. We all saw what happened just after the elections are over, after garnering the votes of the protesters. So, there is nothing CLEARLY here...
If and when the Kaveri Waters Tribunal's decision is gazetted by the central govt., if Karnatak govt. refuses to abide by it citing law and order problem, will this TN CM keep quiet? How can a perfectly legal action by a film producer be banned simply because some fundamentalist groups object to it? The more a govt. bows to a fundamentalist force, it is a shot in the arm for the opposing fundamentalist forces and a body blow to the principles of secularism.

If your view is right, then even the HC division bench is wrong..?
Please try to understand how the "system" of democracy and constitution work in India. Do not mixup issues. Govt did not "bow" any group. She banned it for 15 days giving time to sort out the issues. As the events unfold, sadly, KH delayed his plan to show the film even though he was advised etc. So, my friend, if you are keen to solve any problem - you need to narrow down the problem not widen it. Emotionally charged outbursts can never solve any problem and 'FORTUNATELY OR UNFORTUNATELY' that has been the curse of India... Any problem gets mixed with emotions.
We need to grow up, mature... and that is possible only by balanced approach to any problem.
And balanced approach is possible only when one is not emotionally charged.

It's the job of the govt. to maintain law and order. If Kamal Hassan's film is NOT provocative and does not incite violence THEN there is no reason for the state to ban the film (even for 1 day). Moreover, there are no such violent incidents elsewhere and there is no reason to believe that there would be in TN.
Re: Re: Ban on film

You forgot one important point here my friend. The film has been cleared and issued with a Censor certificate from a National body (CBFC) before even attempting to be shown in theatres. If you are strictly going by rules, then the certificate from a National Body comes first, right? Is it not the responsibility of the State govt. to see to that no violence happens if a film, already cleared by censor board is available? In TN, do you know that news is coming out that the state machinery (police force) is lathi charging the crowd in the theatres to disperse them? Now tell me, who should grow up and mature? Not being emotionally charged is fine; but lying like a 'cow dung' would stink, right?

@Namakkal raghavendra Jaya don't' want to solve Kavery issue for ever and so as Vishwaroopam case.I am pity about the ppl of TN that still they are beleiveing this Fat lady fool. This is all politics to appease muzlms for the coming elections in VH case.
I genuinely feel that this country has been taken over by selfish, narrow minded, incompetent politicians who neither have the vision nor the capability to rule India. This is primarily because Indian democracy has failed to elect capable people to power. It's a failure of the system and the people of India. Frankly, at the moment India stinks!

Agree partly....But its the politicians and not India that stinks....Tell me how many times do you think of religion before having lunch with your colleagues..
Come what may..hes a talented artist and should be respected..this is very cheap and dirty..People who hasn't even seen the movie are protesting..is this a democracy? i am sure this guy would not have hurt the sentiments of Muslims..may be politically vindicated or some other trap to push him to bankruptcy..

on the contrary kamal is getting free publicity that is arousing the interest of public in this movie.. the unwanted political interference has just proved to be an icing on the cake. no doubt this movie would be a hit..

there can't be smoke without fire. all this is cheap politics being played out, and as usual the ever gullible mass will never be able to understand it.
we can all see in the coming weeks who will emerge the winner....

I see lot of muslims who believe in "conspiracy theories". I don't know whether it is because of lack of mind or because of lack of self-image or maybe both.
How could Kamal Hassan have anticipated what the courts are going to rule? The threat of violence deters people from going to cinema halls? How can that help the film? The film getting a delayed release in TN (his main target audience) would certainly affect his business. How can that be in Kamal Hassan's interest?

did he warrant the publicity? are you out of your mind bro? he has pledged his entire propertry and the collections of the first two weeks are critical..
Re: Re: Re: A thought
by Ghulam on Jan 31, 2013 01:56 PM
smart: the movie is not banned throughout India. with the brouhaha being created all over, I am sure it will run full house in most of the states where there is no ban... so kamal undoubtedly will emerge the winner and keep the cash registers ringing... thanks to all the petty politics played to sensationalise the issue..

Yes but his main income is going to come from TN. You may not be aware but Tamil movies are raking up 100 crore business nowadays.

Just read what Jayalalithaa said at a Press Conference a little while back in Chennai. A typical political statement aimed at vote bank politics. One can see that she has virtually insulted Kamal. Of course, she at least is a politician. What shocked me was her self-appointed spokesperson - Cho Ramaswamy. Appearing on several TV channels yesterday night he virtually towed the State Government's line. Cho is a lawyer, his `Thuglaq' magazine is appreciated by many and he was also an actor. He, one thought, would definitely stand for the right of freedom of speech of another actor. It was shocking to see Cho Ramaswamy talking of intelligence reports and all that. It is surprising we do not have any intelligence reports when terrorists and Maoists plan an attack. But we have intelligence reports of violence if a movie is released! I am sure even Cho Ramaswamy must be ashamed of his statement. Having fallen so low, perhaps he should shut down `Thuglaq'. One expected better from him!

I agree. Cho has shown himself to be biased. He is perhaps in the pocket of jayalalitha as are so many senior jounalists nowadays who suck up to politicians.
never in the past a movie had so much trouble. all this is just because of some unscrupulous religious elemets and appeasement politics of highly egoistic political persons
