I read the article in its entirety (The one that incited the controversy in the first place). A very trenchant piece and I find that this man carries a degree of erudition. I would acquiesce to his purported views since they are free from the incessant belligerent jingoism that most demagogue leaders espouse. Therefore it is disheartening to read some of the seemingly vacuous statements on this forum...
1)Nowhere in the article has the writer maligned the country, if anything he only asserts that the country is singularly a democratic utopia. The only people who have been castigated are the leaders to ascribe to the politics of demagoguery.....Either way I find that the readers have already incriminated the man without even attempting to understand the implications of what is a very intelligent rhetoric.

you yourself created this controversy by stating yourself as indian muslim star, always remember that once you a star, one becomes above all the social characteristics like language or relegion, we had ore prominent and superstar than you like deelip Kumar etc, but no one has said like this before then what you are worried for?? just stick to your profession, make more movies, good movies or else join some muslim league..
Why does a man who earns more than 200 Crores per annum needs so much of sympathy? If SRK had any issues this time, then the culprit is the Pakistani home minister. Beyond Thakrey no one so far has given any trouble to SRK and Thakrey is a history now. So, what't the problem with this billionaire? His social stature gives him name, fame and sometimes a hard experience. As far as patriotism is concerned, no one has raised a question. The interesting fact is SRK has never ever expressed his views clearly on Pakistan and related issues. In fact he keeps on using his religion card wisely to sell his movies across the border. This entire episode is another example, else it was very easy for him to condemn the Pakistani minister and finish the issue.
I read his article which is nothing but eulogizing his surname & a few instances of unwarranted airport instances at USA.He is a very smart chap who creates such controversies just when his movies have stopped doing well.

absolutely...he has been losing it for some time now...the incident at the cricket ground or brawl wid shirish kunder at a bar...he has gone mad since his films hav stopped doing well...in the last 5-6 years an aamir khan has reached an altogether different level as a star and icon and now slman too is on a rampage and this guy is losing is relevance..so the attention seeking tactics!!
