Hussain, Rushdie or Taslima were well within their rights as was the Danish newspaper which published cartoons.
The issue is not about believing or respecting a particular religion. In my view, all religions are illogical. The issue is about people having the right to read, discuss and propagate whatever belief or faith that they belong to, in a country which claims to be a secular democracy! A person has as much of a right to read the Bible, Kuran or Gita or any book trashing religions. A person has as much right to make a movie or play, depicting a particular faith or belief system according to his viewpoint. If you don't like a particular book or movie or television show, don't read it or watch it. Simple, is it not?
This is nothing but icon bashing as these small groups are doing this to gain publicity as till yesterday nobody knew them and doing this for their own gain. Kamal has devoted his whole life to cinema and has done and will do nothing wrong. Shame on the Tamilnadu govt to appease a very small group of the minority....i am sure this is not the actual muslim community against Kamal as they are all with him as they know he will not go against any religion.
Re: This is very unfair on Kamal and Indian Cinema.

Never expected Jayalalitha to accept such silly demands made by these outfits. Kamal is one person who makes movies responsibly. When A Wednesday was accepted with open hands everywhere in India, its remake had several protests by these groups in TN, just because a superstar remade it. What are these groups fearing? That fans or the general public will start attacking them after watching his movie? Or do they want to piggybank on Kamals popularity?

The movie is about Taliban and Afghan terrorists. But these groups fear it is against mu sl ims in general and they want to ban it.
