Kamal - India is not for you
by Borowiack on Jan 24, 2013 06:22 PM  | Hide replies

I really feel sorry for a brilliant artist like Kamal. He is born in the wrong place where people are not matured enough to demarcate the difference between entertainment and real life. Kamal is a man who lives and breathes Cinema. This man has invested heavily in this film and as in many of his earlier films, he wanted to give a strong message to the World plus take a good quality entertainer. He is an actor par excellence who has tremendous worldly knowledge and it is despairing to see the bruises that is being inflicted on him repeatedly by religious and caste groups. I do not know how he is going to wriggle himself out of this situation where a State Government instead of providing protection to the film is siding with the fanatical groups who are bent on politicising the issue for their selfish gains. Sorry Kamal, you are born in the wrong place. India is not for you.

Excellently summarized.
Kamal has always raised the bar of quality of Indian Cinema by his contributions, thereby raising the level of audience. He is a very good technician in the field of cinema.
Sorry Kamalji to see you in this sorry state. TN is not yet so matured to accept movies of greater quality that deviates from the average.

IT IS A MAD MAD WORLD
by Borowiack on Jan 24, 2013 05:59 PM  | Hide replies

What is the need for a Censor Board, if individual groups are going to decide which films have to release and which should not. Will this not lead to anarchy ? The TN State Government has set up a very bad precedent by temporarily banning this film which goes against the fundamental constitutional principle of Freedom of expression. My question is why Muslims are here agitating about what is being shown happening in Afghanistan and where the film would have targeted Al Qaeda and Taliban. Why these groups presume that it hurts their religious sentiments when something is shown on the screen about the excesses of Taliban and Al Qaeda ? Why do these nonsensical things prick their conscience ? I am just unable to comprehend. Do they want the World to believe that those organisations are sacrosanct and harbingers of peace ? We know the threat of organisations like Taliban and Al Qaeda and the terror they create ? Why not show the real face of these organisations to the World ? Why should the local Muslims have objections to this ?

On one hand she has made it clear that she is going to support Narendra Modi for PM, on the other hand she wants Muslims support to win atleast 35 seats in the coming election.

Try to read history properly.. Aurangazeb lost his hold of his vast empire because of his conquest policy of south which never succeeded. Whereas Akbar was able to maintain his vast empire successfully since he made truce with rajputs and southern emperors. Even alauddin kilji never succeeded conquering south with his his able general malik kafur. Shivaji came up to tanjore but he behaved very much like an hindu and constructed kali temples here. Don't comment without having adequate knowledge. Even the great kings dhananada of Nanda dynasty and askoka of Mauryan dynasty made truce and did'nt interfere with south and was informed of the same in their edicts. Chandra gupta and samudra gupta had great rivals in Raja raja cholan and Rajendra cholan since they had very superior navy unmatched by any other navy in the world. Harshavadana was defeated by pulikesan 2 of chalukya. The Fact is right from begining the northern kings tried to conquer south and southern kings successfully defended themselves. Try to have some sense of history before you comment. Distortion of history can misinterpret past and can give different meaning to the events of present. Something already happening in pakisthan and sri lanka. Have adequate knowledge before you comment or else don't comment. Something may be better than nothing but nothing is better than nonsense.

He is targeted
by SX on Jan 24, 2013 05:16 PM  | Hide replies

It is totally unfair... ADMK govt is doing this as a political favour for the former banned organisation like TMMK..

TMMK allegedly had links with SIMI and were banned after the Coimbatore bomb blasts in 1998...

What else can be expected from dimwits? If the film actually hurts Hindu sentiments, then it is a great film. But, if perceived (even before release) as anti-I$lam, then it must be banned. Great definition of Secularism. Nation going to dogs.
