Raja Sir ...what crime we the readers have committed? Why is this torture and harrasment? Is it a crime to attempt to know, how the movie?

I can read, write and speak three languages and engligh is one of them. But which language review is this? Quixote, altruism, soliloquy...

We are not realizing the potential of Raja Send and uncessarily wasting our time and money with criminals. We should send Raja Sen for interrogation and they will suicide in jail itself...saving time and money for the country.

Too good comment on raja sen ESP about him interrogating criminals. Very funny indeed. Why not he take up post of English professor in china so that Chinese hate English to the core

As long as he lives in China we are safe...else he will add Chinese flavour to his language and that would be even more terrible. I don't think our country has such a great strength to handle anyone like that.

Sankar - Dude, is it so hard to find meaning of words you don't know? Dictionary exists for a purpose, you know, like looking up meanings. Quixote is not a word - it's a character Don Quixote - read the novel "Man from La Mancha" or at least the Wikipedia page. Then you can understand the context of what Raja is saying. Rest of the words are words that may not translate well to a generation whose vocabulary is restricted to LOL and WTF. Sorry for the sarcasm - but I'm sure you didn't catch that either.

Dear Mark for your kind information, if someone wants to improve their English they will go for a coaching or a class. The way you have written it looks like you are student in English who keeps browsing the net holding the dictionary in one hand and frequently referring it.
Hence I suggest you may approach Raja sen for a personal English tuition and both of you get out from here, until you get improved

If your English is not good enough for you to understand what is written, clearly this is the wrong place for you. Do not criticize the writer because you do not understand what he is trying to say, in fact you do not have the right to do so. And the quality of the original message clearly tells us why it is difficult for the person to understand this review.

Mr.P, I am not sure if there is any class system or anyother places for people with poor engligh like me.

I do not rate myself as a person with great english skills. But as a regular reader of this site, I guess I have the right or atleast the expectation that I understand something that is posted on this site.

My impression of Raja Sen research papers (reviews) is that he show cases his language skills rather than review the movie.

If there is a disclaimer that a review is for only elite english readers. I would definitely refrain from reading or commenting.

Got it...But I am sorry I just studied only till Post Graduation and live in US and does't know much english at this level. And have a job too to take care. Else I would have worked on a thesis called Raja Sen and his review.

These days its fashionable to have paid reviews- paid for by directors, producers, actors et al.While the general public has had enough of Bhardwaj's psuedo intellectualism disguised as home grown movie script ( plagiarism is official in this land). Its a given in his fare - turining simple story telling in to one laboured and complex fare simply because he is not able to take care of loose strands. his movie making is a testimony of his native, inate and intrinsic confusion. My advice to him : get back to basics.Cut the clutter.See the joy of simplyfying things. And yes, pretend less.
BTW Mr Sen, pankaj kapur is not the greatest by any stretch of imgination. he is a fine actor. period. but a very bad and copy cat director. There are actors much better than him.Watch his Dus and you'd know how his hamming and over acting spoiled the entire movie.

Oh so true..if David Dhawan it would have been ripped apart and those aspects that are being projected as strengths now, would have been cited as weaknesses

what the heck is simple story telling? u know wat passes off as simple story telling these days? the likes of dabbang, son of sardar, rowdy rathore and their nth sequels..here is a director who forces us to enjoy movies that require one to think..to assimilate slowly long after the scene is done with..something so long lasting like the taste of matured wine..and u talk of same old simple story telling to oppose it?..i can agree if u say that anurag kashyap is pseudo intellectual..but dude, vishal bharadwaj is a frigging stand out and dare i say, a genius..his movies r what indian movies should aspire to be..

speaking of greatest, its tough to choose between natural actors that are amongst our best..i mean, one can pick any one out of pankaj kapoor, naseerudin shah, irfan khan, paresh rawal, sanjeev kumar and call him the best..u ll still find many to support u..kinda like arguing who is the best batsman - tendulkar, dravid, bradman or ponting..

Raja Sen's fascination for Pankuj Kapoor
by Billu Plumber on Jan 11, 2013 05:53 PM

Raja's fascination would even embarass pankuj kapoor who is a fine actor but thats about it.
Already he has to survive the shame of fathering a loser. Maybe soon Raja ll lift Shahid to Amitabh's level
