LTTE could have been showed in much more bad taste. But the movie doesn't. I don't understand the controversy at all. For the first time, Bollywood has matched Hollywood in a spy/war kind of movie. It is so crisp that you will not realize the length of the movie at all. Interval was a distraction ..

Good so instead of making fairy tales and lies about the LTTE and the Eelam Tamils, He should make an accurate movie movie about Hindian Rapists and what the IPKF did to the Eelam Tamils

He should have read a little more like Rajesh Kadian or Harkirat Singh about the IPKF assignment: misdeeds, politics and all the mess up. Read about how the great Hindi jawans stole electronics from Tamil homes and even clothes let to dry outside a Jaffna home... He should have read about Diwali massacre conducted by IPKF in Jaffna Hospital.....
Everyone is so vella here to waste their time on bullshitting ...guys, grow up ..can u change anything by writing here...if u have the guts to speak up something..go to the press or write a book..

We are not watching it. Never. Watch this instead - The light - Swami Vivekanand Duty of every Indian to watch and learn from Swamiji.
Swami Vivekananda too had intensely criticized Sinhalas for their violent and discriminatory attitude towards the local Indian tamil people in lanka when he came to Lanka for giving lectures. This is recorded in his memoirs.

The Eelam Tamil population from the north and east of the island are not from Indian but have lived in the island from prehistoric times. Do not mix them up with the 1.2 million Indian origin largely estate Tamils who live in the Sinhalese south and have nothing to do with this civil war.

Why would Indian even turn their cities in rape town, watch bollywood movies, show women as objects... if they read Swamiji. As somebody who attended mission school and studied Ramakrishna, I wish they even got a glimpse of his thoughts and vision for the youth. We will not be wasting on a bollywood movie, or give importance to flesh like this media does...
living...to protect them and to gain there self respect they fought wt is happening now, they are still suffering some of here want's to erase the past history
In this film truth is raped in the name of thriller story, ple media don't write this story as a truth of past history, this is mistake same , i.e, a sin of changing the words in holy book of any religion

Tamils were subjected to bombs that are illegal.. thermobaric and cluster bombs that are banned. Why don't they talk about that in this movie.
This guy is one of the idiots who have not understood the reality of the Eelam Conflict. What has happened out there in Srilanka is a mere genocide and Rajapkase is a war criminal without a doubt. Still the Tamils are suffering a lot in Srilanka. India is just doing a global politics and hence we are not actually helping them at all. How many people in North India know this fact? According to John and this movie's director, LTTE are terrorists and Rajeev Gandhi is a hero. This is ridiculous. Even after making this movie, the way John commented on the protests on this movie, was atrocious. Shame on him for trying to earn some money by hurting the Tamils sentiment. Good to see Tamils are united across the globe against this idiotic guys and senseless movie.

Just as you have expressed yourself, everyone has the right to express himself/herself. You put it into words. John has put it on celluloid.

Yes. You are right. Everyone has the right to express themselves. But not by hurting others. My liberty is only upto your nose, but not touching it. I cannot express myself by abusing the sentiment of yours. John should first understand about that genocide. If he does, then he will withdraw the movie himself and apologize to Tamils.

This film is nothing but a congress funded promortion. John is so sentimental about Rajiv Ghandhi in the movie....the movie is all about his love for Rajiv Ghandhi..poor John

There is no right to produce a movie highlighting suffering of Tamils. Liberty is one way in India.
I saw this movie and I have liked it through and through. All actors have done a brilliant job. The narration and drama give a glimpse of what really happened in the 30 year war between LTTE, Sri Lankan Government and India. My only observation is that suspense about the assassination could have been made more subtle.

You really do not know what happened, the reality is the IPKF raped looted and killed more than 10000 Tamil civilians go and Google and read. The Sri Lankan racist armed forces killed more than 300000 Tamil civilians around 145000 in May 2009 and ethnically cleansed around 1.2 Tamils from the their lands. This is still going on . From the time of Rajiv Gandhi until now all Indian governments have overtly and covertly aided and abetted this genocide,as the south block is run by anti Tamils. This movies is just to white wash and make the Indian and the racist Sinhalese look good and the indigenous Eelam Tamils look evil and bad for fighting for their own rights in their own ancient land. People like you who have no idea of the real history of the island will watch this and believe this lies
