Yeah, if that was the case, wouldn't Sangeeta Bijilani also have gotten the Padma Shri after converting to Islam and marrying Azharuddin? Dude, get your facts right man and stop shooting your mouth off like that. Sridevi didnt convert and she still got it. Saroj Khan hasnt gotten it and she converted to Islam.

You must know the facts b4 getting immotional with secularity.
Any religion other than mouselem considers HYNDUS as normal and respected human being !! HYNDU's can marry to any other religion while maintaining their own status.
It's only M's and their religion which consider Hyndus as "Kafir", a degraded, lower class person.
Thats why a HYNDU need to get converted (to mouselem) to marry a mouselem in sharia procedure.
THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL FOR HYNDU RELIGION, no other religion treats HYNDU's like this downgraded way.
Once she took her personal decision, at the same time, she also insulted her religion and accepted that she is a "KAFIR" as HYNDU.
I would not have commented so, had it been for any other religion.

Sridevi definitly deserves it,when you look at some of the earlier Padma awardees ,i think she is definitly eligible for that...an actress who has been acting since the age of four,completed almost 300 movies,besides being a superstar in the north and south is no mean achievement...the awards are given in different categories and she is being given for her tenure in the film industry.

Really eh? And what planet do you belong to? How did Sridevi survive since the age of four to 49 without acting? If you say by sleeping around and exposing well, so did Mamta Kulkarni, Deepa Sahi, Kimi Katkar, Sheeba, Nigar Khan etc etc. It takes a special talent to be able to carry off playing an Afghan woman when ur from Tamil Nadu, or playing such outrageous roles as Judaai, Nagina etc or even stealing the limelight with a 10 minute role in Jaanbaaz. Of course there are gems like Sadma, Lamhe, Mr. India, Chaalbaaz, Kshana Kshanam and ENGLISH VINGLISH!
