Guess what. Hats off to Rediff for having given the correct rating. No other website is evenly biased atleast in case of this film. The movie was boring right from the word go. There is lot a hardwork that has been put in the form of sets, stunts but sadly everything goes in vain. One tends to runaway from the theatre towards the end. It nothing against one actor named "Surya". Yes I dont like him. I am a Thala fan. But guess what, I really love these following movies of Surya.
1. Mounam Pesiyadhe 2. Vaaaranam Aariyam(The best of surya) 3. Nandha 4. Kaakha Kaakha
These are my pick among his films. I dint like 7aam arivu. But after seeing maatraan, I must admit, 7am arivu was far better. Mokkam padam pa satyama.

are u ajit fan ?? 2012 super duper flopppppppp is billa 2, past seven years only two hit movies from ajit... ajit can start hotel.. he is unfit for cinema...

a movie shoulD entertain all people.... its not like America/or Andipatti... all are same kind of people....and Adnipatti is not lower than america...all are people..... Also , in america , its not americans are watching , only peole from Andipati and other such areas only watching.....pls understand that,,,,

hi ramachandran, thanks.. so many english, russian words in MAATRAN movie.. DNA etc etc.. that is why i told village people wont comfortable with maatran.. nothing else.. NAAN EEE is super hit in all centre...

what do you mean by village people? Do you think people in metros are well-educated and the movie will be hit in chennai,coimbatore etc ., You can use the sentence 'Less-educated people may not like the movie as it has more technical words'. Please don't live in a shell. People in Villages are getting well-educated as they are living peacefully while you people are wasting time in hectic city life. The only extra talent you have is.. you can jump into the running city bus !!!

u sick this movie opening it self great success all around the world..us.uk.srilanka,sigapore,malyasia, africa all around gulf and europe this movie is highest screen indian movie in theates france.a.. surya growing big by every film

Completely agree with you (word by word). This movie gave the feeling Surya is going down badly. Even billa 2/ Thandavam is horrible but not as bad this craap movie
This movie deserves 4.5 out of 5.. howmany movies comes in india with different ideas.. all the movies revolves around romance, masala. this movie has concept with all the ingredients...

Thank god I didn't listen to Pavitra's review before going to "Thandavam", otherwise I would have missed some interesting movie. I will skip the movie when Pavitra gives good rating....I am going to definitely watch "Maatraan" this weekend.

I guess all of rediff movie review go the same way, Hindi or Tamil. Rediff had given 3 Idiots 1 star initially, and then on viewers response upgraded to 4.
