The problem is that people judge Rahman's works comparing with his own past works. And never judge any music quality there. Everybody expects to repeat Dil Se. or Bombay. For me. this is one of the best music album of the year after Barfi. I saw some reviewers given 6/10 both for JTHJ and ETT (Ek Tha Tiger). Very poor reviews just to malign Rahman's image. Believe me listen more and you will fall in love with JTHJ. Yess its not his best work. Certainly worth listening

If you have problem with this album, simply leave it and try to listen Pritam or some other music director which u like. I am not enforcing you, atleast, to listen it again n again. Don't listen it even once and keep your other choices with you. A sincere suggestion for you dude. ARR music is beyond your taste so either you should upgrade your standard or leave it.
You said the fake truth. If ARR made a typical bollywood song, you cry there is nothing new. If it is different as fresh, you will not understand and say it is a crap. This is a feel fresh album and a worthy one. A good thumps up to ARR. Keep going man. There is no medicine for these kind of people. Let them listen "dreamum Wakeupum".We millions are here to listen your blessed fresh tunes. Once again a high thumps up to your song "Jiyare" a classy one it will stay months and years in our mind.We bet no body can give such a tremendous blend of classical and western song in near future except copying from you.

Just bcoz its composed by ARR, one cant forcefully listen 10 times to like a song. Imagine if it would have been composed by any other music director, it would have been listened once and then shelved.. the songs are not upto ARR standards and music is quite ordinary.. correctly said in article above, this is way below the best music this year.. the likes of Barfi, Vicky Donor, Cocktail etc..

No body is forcing to listen more and more. It comes naturally because once you here, it grows on you. But Others are being shelved after one or two because the are the repetition and getting bored by hearing more.

we are not simply repeating to listen his songs. that comes automatically. initially I too disappointed vth JTHJ. I thought ill not listen it again. but music flows in my ear, this makes us to listen it again and not as u tell. see, not one person tell like that. the whole nation says the same abt rahman about his music grows on u. everybody agree about it. I still remember wen rangeela was released. everybody dumped it initially.

Ashok , rahman is a hype. accept it. his which album was good in last 10 years? have u listened to pritam, vishal shekhar and vishal bhardwaj? get out of ur shell..
Re: Re: JTHJ songs

after om shanti om, vishals music all looks same. pritam is always a copy cat. bharadawaj is talented but not a mass appeal one. amit trivedi promising but no consistency in delivering music

OK DEAR I ACCEPT IT. HE IS A HYPE. Let us take back all the awards (4-National, 15 Film Fare, 13 south Film Fare, 11 iifa, hundreds of local & international awards- we need a train to carry all these) and then distribute to Pritam,Vishal,V.Bharadwaj. Other wise it will be very shame full to our indian music industry. OH 1 I am still in the shell.... What to do with the Baftas and Oscars? Can we give it to Himesh?
only JatinLalit have given brilliant music in Yashraj films(DDLJ,Mohabbatein,HumTum,Fanaa). Reamining all regularcomposers(Pritam,SalimSuleiman,VishalShekhar) have proved to be mediocre. Now wih JTHJ, Rehman's music is definitely better than remaining Yashrajfilms. Altough it is neither DDLJ nor Fanaa, nor Rehman's best but still better than Yashrajs regularcomposers music.
It looks like the old goat is dropping his daughter to college. SRK tried very hard to break away from his lover boy image by playing a superhero, don, KBC etc. Everything flopped and now he is back as a YashRaj loverboy and if this flops it is the end of SRK. Good riddance

People who loves Rahman & Yash Chopra's work will definately feel bad. Even i felt bad. after listening couple of times Songs are sounding gud. Challa,Heer,Jabtakhaijaan,Ishq Shava are catchy. remaining will flow with screenplay. I'm sure on going forward it will works, if movie works, then music will become more popular.
well i think Ms Sukanya is speaking for herself when she says Rahman disappoints. Actually the point is, what was she expecting??? As for the music, its different, experimental and definitely not the usual run of the mill sountracks of hindi movies of today. Am sure the soundtrack will grow on people and just like ravan and yuvraaj were torn apart by crittcs and reviewers when it was released and its being liked now, these songs too will catch up....no doubt! Am not a big Ar rahman fan but what i do admire about him is the way his work stands out and how he conciously makes every track of his sound distinct and not along expected lines. Take for example the title track of this album.... starts off in jazz and when ur expecting to sink in the melody, the indian beats set in.... almost makes you wonder...how did that happen?... but well there in lies the genius of the man!
THEY NEVER APPRECIATE ANYONES WORK...IF THERE CRITICS ARE SO TALENTED THAN SHOULD MAKE MOVIES AND COMPOSE MUSIC..AND MAKE THE NATION PROUD ....LIKE YASH CHOPRA AND ARR ...THE PEOPLE WHO DOESNT BECOME ANYTHING IN LIFE BECOMES REVIEWERS AND CRITICS.....
Re: rediffs critics team the worst reviewers

@ Karan I agree with U. I don't how this critics will give ratings. So Many Rahaman's albums proved as a gud after listing repeatdly, even few movies didn't workd at box office but their music still rocks, like Dil se........ Here this Sukanya also says that she listened over and over. Wat a Joke.
