The English film was Super Trooper. But the actor was Terence Hill and not Bud Spencer. The pair have acted together in many movies. That might have created the confusion.

You ve got to be really careful while taking on MR. INDIA
Mr. India is big and Classy and needs a intellectual article than the one penned above...
Mr. India is a movie whose characters, dialogs, scenes are so deeply imprinted in aam janta s mind tht even a minute mistake (inventor of the famous watch, quarter of a decade of its release, ) s easily traced down ..
Mr. INDIA
was Innocent as its kids
had Golden heart of Arun n Calender
was Sensous as Sridevi
had threat of Mogambo

The Script, Direction, Music, Lyrics, Dances, Anil, Sridevi, Amrish Puri, Satish kaushik, Anu Kapoor, red glasses, watch and KIDS .. every body involved with this movie were Mr. India s hero and reached every age group 7 to 70 ..

Agree with your only point Kids and teens of 1980s hold this movie high up there .. tht being from tht category even now i prefer Mr. India in one or the other chanel than any XYZ current movies..

Mr. INDIA and its makers ... U ROCK !!!!

The author here again has written half baked article when a talks about an innocent world , he fails to recollect Punjab was burning so was most of the India . Indira Gandhi had got killed , there were anti-sikh rights , Kashmiri Problem had started to escalate .May be the author is illinformed , but 80s was one of the worst decade as far as terrorism , unemployement are concerned .So another stupid rediff article

100% agree, There was not a single day when some bus or train where all passengers was gunned down by terroists in punjab. south was peaceful but north had more than a fair share of problems. 90s was far better from law and order angle.

there was one more failed attempt - "Gayab"
by Sarju Kamdar on May 23, 2012 12:51 PM  | Hide replies

I completely agree that Mr. India remained at it's peak. I somehow remember bad movies and that too "Gayab" starring Tushar Kapoor and Antara Mali remains somewhere in the memory as another failed attempt to create an "invisible Hero".
