It is all too easy to find faults or to be finicky. Fact of the matter is, this is one actor who is trying to make a difference. Whether he succeeds or not is another issue altogether. But that should not preclude an attempt.
As for the effect his first episode had, I think it has had a unprecedented effect as far as rousing public sentiments is concerned. At least a start has been made. No one has managed to ignite public sentiments on this subject to this extent before. Now actually holding to the anger/sorrow and continuing the work which has been set in motion is upto the public. So let us stop trying to find the gaps in the programme and be more positive about the attempt. After all how much can one pack into a 1 hour programme of 13 episodes?

yes some people always find faults with others action. she says we dont need aamir khan to bring such issues to light. The matter of fact is we do need aamir khan. Becoz when a celebrity speaks about such issues, and trying to make a difference more people view the programme. A celebrity endorsing a social stigma makes a difference than a lay man. I find the programme productivee n useful to the society. Some people only comment, neverthless dont appreciate others efforts to bring a change in the society n they do not do it themselvs/
Sheela Bhatt, what a world you live in. You know there are problems galore in India. Is any one doing anything about it from film industry, politicians to social activists? Anna's movement has died, are your angry? No, Crores of people were angry while participating in the Anna's agitation. Did the anger help in bringing Lokpal? So, if anger can not help, who knows may be the tears can, one can only hope. After all, India used to produce tear-jerkers films until late 60's. Those films also had some social issues but effect of tears make one introspect a lot more. Anger is an instantaneous reaction which usually does not last. You want a feeling that stays with you after the transmission of the episode. As for the flat format, I thought it was good as it was because by bringing more actors to the show would have diluted the message. It would have made the issue intractable -like India, Pakistan impasse over everything. It would not have allowed also to let it cover all aspects of the issue as he did - from not only just one family - middleclass, to one belonging to a religion(Muslims), to one belonging to educated class as well as covering the widespread reach of the problem across different areas and regions of India. There was nothing you could scoff off but you still did? Which planet do you really live on.
Aamir perfectly represents the apathetic middle class of India. The middle class who won't care to report if they see a crime on the road, the middle class who won't care to rescue if they see an accident in the middle of the road, the middle class who will keep quiet even if they know mishappenings in a hospital....etc etc etc.
Aamir will talk about the misfortunes of Indian society for few weeks, take his heavy cheque, get his image enhanced and use it in his entertainment field. While the same misfortunes will keep happening and middle class will be as apathetic to these as ever and shed crocodile tears in the shows.
This review has been written with single point of view that "Aamir is out to change India" and it is quite funny, as nobody can think and achieve this with TV program. It is easy to draw your own conclusion and blast. I wish reviewer would have done better analysis and research.
I realy liked the analisys of Sheela Bhatt..very pragmatic.
asking for a change or leading a change is a big commitment. I am not sure Aamir Khan can lead us..but he has provided a hint that he would write a letter to Rajastan Gov about the change in thier handling the Sting operation.
One letter will not be enough in India..It need days, months, Years of commitment to get through the buerocratic channels and fight it through
