there have been lots of movies with similar stories...and inspiration is not a bad thing, unless its a blind copy. for that matter most of tragic love stories are inspired from Romeo & Juliet
The file “Kahaani ” is incredible. Something which is beyond the extent to be chained in words. It has such an immense power that it ties the audience to the edge of the seat with its immensely intricate story and fabulous and power packed performance of Vidya. All other protagonist too have delivered stupendously beautiful performance. Vidya gives one thing to audience, each time she come in the frame: goose bumps. Its absolutely a must watch and not a one-time watch. From the story, acting, its music and the song: “ekla cholo re” by Amitabh Bachchan will just sway you off your mind. Sometime the fast and multi-layered music, the drum beats off puja time will make you forget everything around you and will make you miss your heart beat. That is the beauty and strength of this mastered and minutely tailored film. A flawless one indeed. This should make it to the Kodak Theatre next year and sweep all the golden statuette from the Academy Awards.
For all those who criticize: "can you do something better? try out your hand and prove you have something better in store before saying its not good. and if u cant this too, then "please brush your teeth and change your taste"........"

100% agree with uu...the best so far this year..lets wait for talaash and see if it can beat this movie.
Look at all the ads of the movie around in rediff..no body is dumb. I haven't even read the review but to give 4 star is too much. 4 Star in hollywood is Oscar worthy!!
