There can be no doubt that he was the greatest. Kishoreda had great voice and was highly talented but lacked the classical base of Rafi. Both were good in their own genres but there was one big difference. Rafi could have sung all of Kishore's songs but not vice versa. Rafi may not have sung those songs as well as Kishore did but because of his strong classical base, he could have sung any of those songs anyway. But to expect kishore to sing all of rafi's songs would have been too much for kishore. This is not to say in any way that kishore was inferior - but only to point out the difference. It is possibly not fair to compare both - both were all-time greats and Kishore was possibly only marginally lower in scale - if rafi saab was 100%, kishore-da was 99%.
My family members are always very fond of hearing the songs of Mohd. Rafi, due to his sweet voice. Indeed, we have lost good singer in our country which cannot be filled by anybody with proper replacement.

HASHIM, Nobody is against Rafi. He had a Divine Voice.Music has no Religion. Only the Pakis find Religion in everything!

Hashim, Rafi was more Classical. Kishore appealed more to Common man! Personally I preferred to hear Rafi.
