If I were to rank top actresses of Indian cinema, Sadhana would be second only to Nutan (who remains at the top owing to her performance skills). (For those curious, Madhuri would be the third.) Sadhana had beauty, charm, grace, amazing acting skills and amazing dancing skills. I don't think any actress can ever beat her on her captivating eye expressions. It is such a tragedy that she could do so few movies owing to her illness. But in such a short career she captured the imagination and hearts of millions and continues to do so today. I wish she had been awarded for her contribution to Indian cinema.

No question about Nutan and Sadhana being great actresses, but you are obviously ignoring stars of an earlier generation - Nargis, Madhubala and Meena Kumari
This is the second good featured article since rediff was whelped a decade back. First was an article on some lesser known supporting actors. Now this one. Looks like there is at least someone in rediff who can write well...

Combination of grace, innocence, beauty and talent. Very few actresses like Sadhana.
The epitome of beauty that Indian cinema ever had. The innocence on her face, the enchanting beauty combined with grace. If it's a question about beauty in a heroine, I think Sadhana is at the top.
Sadhana is only actress for whom Lata Mangeshkar sang every melodious songs of her. Sadhana was charming and only Hema could match her sincerity and simplicity. Sadhana was No 1 super star in Bollywood and mo other actress till today can claim her position. People still like her films for romantic songs that Lata sang in her career.
