what kinds of families ? The same families in control of media and entertainment especially (indian film industry) whose loose moral values have led to this kind of depravity. Nobody takes about the item songs and their effect on society, nobody takes about films and TV shows from the ekta and bhatt camps and least of all nobody takes about the western way of life that have infected our youth in this this age of I, ME, Myself attitudes, fast buck and instant gratification generation. Scores of debates on the telly but nobody willing to touch these subjects. Not even the poster boy for the far left liberal janta, Amir Khan on his SJ show.

The most relevant factor is what made these particular rapists think that poor victim "needed to be" raped?
Ever since the BPO industry flourished and women started working at night, sexually frustrated men have been spreading lies about BPO centers being scenes of Roman orgies in which women working in these centers willing participate!
The other culprit is Bollywood which blindly imitates Hollywood in its portrayal of female characters!
After watching these idiotic Bollywood movies, illiterate and frustrated men think women love the kind of nonsense that is shown on the screen!
With no stringent laws to prevent them from acting on their animal urges, these animals think it is OK to rape as women love this kind of treatment!

don't you think migration from other states is equally responsible. Delhi is in the city where not one culture exists. regional people. Heinous crimes like this have increased during the past few years. People should look at the number of migrants from neighboring states unlike Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad where only elite and educated people migrate for jobs. Delhi has most of migrants from low class uneducated people coming here for dwellings. Law enforcement and Policing is equally responsible.

@ Adam I knew that Punjabis can even kill their near and dear ones for money. But I didn't know this.
1. Lets have equal rights to every human being in our country first. 2.Lets have a maternal system. It means all family rights,successions will be given to women. Family businesses are run by women.Men would be limited to public life only while women to have no such limitation. 3.need to modify marraige institution ? may be polygamy for both women & men but children must be with women?
