Money may talk, but Cheapness shows!
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Apr 14, 2012 03:07 PM

'Tis truly said, "Even a fool on stage is worthy of some accolades provided he keeps his mouth shut." But then the inherently shallow can't keep their mouths shut. In these days of global econnomic slowdown, one can safely reckon that even the once-hallowed (and I use that term deliberately) Western universities have to compete to attract big money from wherever it can come come. Bollywood moneybags, of course, qualify on the money front. Else, there's little else to explain Yale's rolling out the red carpet to someone who is at best, a nachaniya-gawaniya. That he was chaperoned by the one of the country's top business families, whose scion is in the same varsity, also helps. Westerners understand very well the Indian weakness for Western degrees, accolades and honours, and are of course ready to play ball (when it suits their interests). One cannot deny the fact that money does talk. But all the money in the world cannot buy an iota of class or values (the naysayers may snigger saying, "who cares for your values?"). And Cheapness shows. Despite all the "Yalification", the singing-dancing entertainer can only do what he is fit for - shake a bit here and here and mouth his inane filmi dialogues. Buying your way into Yale's portals doesn't make you an Einstein or a George Bernard Shaw. The reaction of the Indian Foreign Ministry over the detention episode of this Pak-loving (and related to some of their terrorist handlers) cheapo is downright obnox

wish we Indians understood whats all this about !
its just another way of publicity to invite new admissions.
if w see the lists of universities in usa, there are HEAPS of them. and most of them are actually losing out business big time.
what better way to market or advertise it.

Correct comment, vasu, naked truth is that crooked westerners treat all indians and hindus as Slaves&untouchables ONLY, vene now 90 percent of indians will be denied permission to visit america or europe or white skinned countries and forget about work visas, etc though these racist countries freely allow all white-skinned persons to enter and work as they wish too, westerners want ONLY our market to sell their jink and loot as britishers did using the double agents and brokers and slaves and dalals, etc, further, america does not appease muzzzies as we do and they are not a banana republic like us,do not forget folks that srk uncle is chief of ISI and america was wriited about a nucler suitcase attack too rom srk suitcase?,Sureley, mega bucks can buy yale university, but mega bucks cannot BUY american justice system like our justice system and politicians, right folks??? can we ban entry of all western products or tax them 100 or 200 percent and ban entry of all westerners now??? and make friendship with china.asean, russia, brazil&south africa only to save ourselevs??? only then we can save our nation and our pride and and our economy too!

PtNehru and Indira Gandhi did the same thing as per yourwish that is refusing to recognise the Democratic Israel, ignoring the democratic West and USA an d running after Dictatorial African Countries,Mid East Cou ntries,Russia and China etc. At last what happened? China stabbed us on our back in 1962 and along with Russia became chums with USA.

Like the Dean's attitude and spontaneity. He took things in right spirit. Without being too much fussy about or being weighed down under his designation. Way to go SRK and the Dean.

Shah Rukh Khan's detention
by Mambakkam Subramanian on Apr 14, 2012 11:50 AM  | Hide replies

Lot of bull shitting is going on about Shah Rukh Khan's detention in New York airport. The US Government has done what it thinks is right to protect their citizens. Racial typecasting of Muslim's is better than letting all through and suffering the consequences. It is better that hundred people are questioned rather than overlooking one Islamic terrorist through and create another devastation like the World Trade Centre. After all Barrack Obama does not have to think about the Muslim Vote Bank rather than the safety of even the National Parliament.
