Vettaikaran was a flop. Thats the reason why Vijay and Sun Pictures had a spat. Sura, which followed Vettaikaaran was a Disaster.

if vettaikaran was a flop than why did distributers ask vijay to give crore nd crores of money to them..cuz it wuz a flop

Every actor has hits and flops but the superstars r ones who pull crowd irrespective of the way their previous films fate. Vijay proved with a huge blockbuster in "kavalan" and his stock is just rising with movies like velayudham, nanban, yohan, ARM movie, pagalavan and mani rathnam project.

U r talking about Kavalan The movie which lacked buyers. As the buyers were claiming their loss from vijay for his previous flops. Lets see till how much time his stock will rise as the actor going to work with big & popular directors who shows the actor not by their look but by their acting talent.

Vijay has zero mass appeal. All his movies have flopped in the last 3 years. Kuruvi, ATM, Villu, Vettaikaran are flops. Kavalan was an average hit. Even the profits made by Surya's average movie Adhavan are much higher than Vijai's blockbuster movie revenues. The hottest stars with great mass appeal, next to Kamal and Rajini are Suriya and Ajith Kumar only.
