Give to it people who have not amassed wealth and serve the country with an intention of serving. Not ones who are looking to fill their pockets at every opportunity a la Sachin, Amitabh. These cheapos should never be given anything.

We are a country of sheep mentality.. We clap when shahrukh khan makes funny faces or shows his abs at events.. and question the credibility of Anna hazare to question the parliament when each one of us know what most parliamentarians are.. BTW Saif Ali khan got some national award for acting, is'nt that amusing.. Bharat ratna should be given to people who work selflessly for the society, for others and for the nation.. Anna Hazare, Bahuguna, Kejriwal and other activist who have invested their lives for others.

If Modi was MASS Killer then why in last 10 yrs there is so much peace , development in Gujrat. Why its now becoming Auto Hub , why it is No. 1 in GDP . Even in Rajsthan in last one month there are so much voilence but not much highlighted by media ...Congress feared of MOdi and thats y targeting him only..

True 100 % Agreed..this award is lucky if it goes to Karkare for his Braveness
i think bharat ratna award should b given to people who has bought good change to county. the services should b mesaured on the scale of their contribution in social activites which either shouldve enlighten the society or b productive like helping people come out of poverty or providing employment and contribution to nation as a whole. i think at the moment the one person comes to my mind for bharat ratna is MR.Narayana Murthy of INFOSYS. he is a change agent who woke up the whole youth and laid a great i.t foundation which india in whole world recognises with. he provided emplyment, built a honest corporate firm, made many millionaires, made youth to dream and perform.his contribution to our economy is great.as a person he is very clean...just like President KALAM SIR.
