Funnily enough a lot of Bachchan movies made me sad, specially if he dies in the end. Deewar, Sholay etc. Not sure if others had the same experience. Guess it's just the fact that it is not a happy ending that can get a child sad :)

I think that feeling was very well manipulated by the movie makers to make it a hit. There were a lot of other movies like Muqaddar Ka Sikandar where Bacchan dies. Making the super-star who should not die, a martyr is a good way to make the movie a hit. I remember, I too as a child did not like Bacchan die in the movie. Incidentally, the only reason a God-forsaken movie like Coolie could have gone a hit is the real-life escape from death, that Amitabh Bacchan had during its shooting.

Coolie, always wondered how he managed to live with so many bullets, but while watching the movie, was relieved when he survived...hehe...crazy
Yeah I think you are referring to the incident where Punit Issar punched Bachchan during a stunt and he hit the table edge or some such thing.
1. Swades - where Shahrukh reaches the railway station, he sees a small boy selling water in kulkar pot for 25 paise each.. Rest is too poignant for words to describe... Its A R RAHMAN at his best as the master makes a background score for a minute that leaves heart wrunging, and eyes misty. b) Sadma & Mahanadi - KamalHassan at his best c) Anjali d) Black - For once the film was surreal...
there is no mention of matrudevo bahava...where a mother knows she is going to die and want some people to adopt her children. How the mother feels and children feels...really cant stop crying at the end when the mother really dies
