Fans of sunny..facts of gadar
by amit subburaja on Jun 17, 2011 09:35 AM

If media is ignoring then fans of sunny should divulge the truth about India's most succesful film ever...
1)8 shows were run everyday for a month in punjab for Gadar
2) It played in more than 20 theaters for months in Delhi alone
3
) With inflation adjusted and in non multiplex age, Gadar still remains as number one grosser of all times.. as per boxofficeindia

4) gadar was produced by IIM guy Nitin Keni. It was officially first ever corporate film of india, All the shootings were done on schedule following corporate culture and pre defined budget.

5) gadar would have flopped with any other actor

6)gadar did so well with almost zero publicity

poor editing
by buddhavarapu venu gopal on Jun 16, 2011 07:16 AM  | Hide replies

The lagaan is a good movie, but the script is very streching and editing is also very poor, thats why it failed in oscar race.

Gripping piece

Absolutely loved the piece written here.. to describe the reading experience in words would be to say, i hoped the "next" link to never stop..
cheers guy.. A little mention of Gadar would have been complete.. esp. when the movie did better in India. and also the release of Lagaan-Gadar was just synonymous to Ghayal-and some amir movie release on the same date and both being Hits.. something on those lines..
Neways.. once again its one of the best online reads i have witnessed ever since the Internet happened (okay.. thats stretching it too far)..

Gone are those days
by ramanujam srinivasan on Jun 15, 2011 06:47 PM

I think this was the last film, which ran for more than 50 days in cities like Madurai, where only 1% of the population know Hindi...
Gone are those days, when Bollywood was d benchmark and many non-hindi folks watch bollywood movies even without knowing the language..

Nowadays,Bollywood is full of NRI shit and porn in the name of bold cinema...

and now South Indian movies are furiously remade in Hindi to get profits
