The movie referred to is "Twelve Angry Men" directed by Sydney Lumet. True, it is one of the outstanding films of all time, but the fact is that "Melvilasam" is in no way similar to "Twelve Angry Men" except for the fact that both are courtroom dramas. While "Twelve Angry Men" speaks about the Jury System in the US, "Melvilasam" is about a court marshall in the Army. Traffic is already being made in Hindi and the rest of the South Indian languages and Prakash Raj has bought the rights to remake "Salt and Pepper" in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.

Is Melvilasom similar to A few good men (The Tom Cruise - Jack Nicholson Starrer)?? I have not watched Melvilasom, but the storylines sound similar....

ya.. all these movies are now being remade into Tamil. So for u all these movies are copies of Tamil movies !

Guys, pls ignore Suppandi. He tries to provocate people against Tamils by posting such sueless comments. He's not a tamil but a kannadiga.
I too felt PRANAYAM desrve the first place.BUT these films also deserve it.. 2011 is a rocking year for MALAYALAM film industry... (except NOV, due to some selfish minded idiots).. Our films may not be making 100 crores in 1 week.. But the quality and class which was in losing trend has got reversed...
Good to see tat the list is filled with only excellent movies nd not one junk in it. thers 3 more movies tat really deserves to make it to the list. Pranayam, chappa kurishu and beatiful. nd its nice to see tat most of these movies managed to set the cash registers ringing at the BO. Tho its a shame to see our dear mallus whining for good movies nd yet declined to see adaminte makan abu in theatres nd instead made pandit movi a hit. Had adam nd melvilasom became major hits at BO we wud b looking into mostly class movies by 2012. Ny ways i wish our young film makers cud hold their nerve to make good movies goin forward

This photo is from the movie Traffic only and its correct. Kunchako Boban & Mamta were acted in the movie Race.

They corrected this only now when we told that it is the wrong phot When this article was first put the picture was from the movie race!!!
