It is because we Indians know the value of a person only when (a) it is recognized by USA and (b) after his death. Dev's acting talents were never recognized when Raj Kapur and Dilip Kumar, both useless actors, were active in film industry. Can you believe that Dev Anand got only Padma Bhushan while the most useless character like MG Ramachamdran got Bharat Ratna only to please South Indians?

I believe you do not know the full story of MGR. Bharat Ratna was not given for his acting alone, he was a generous person helping the poor. If you ever say this in front of people in rural Tamil Nadu, you will be dead, my friend. Watch what you want to say?
Why waste time..he came, wobbeled his head and body, fooled every one into believe he was acting..make howlariously hilarious movies that no one would dare see..

Entertainment is not just acting well otherwise every NSD product would have been a superstar. He made bad movies, but he made some very good movies as well. He was a superstar. Worked all his life, believed in his beliefs and when he died, almost whole world cried for him. A gentleman who never ctiticised others.
