I dont think even any one thought its classic...it is to enjoy...so stay cool Sir...any lay man can sing and understand the song...thats the reason its a big hit...lyrics can not be understood by a common man is waste of time...Just enjoy songs like it
Javed Akhtar is correct. There is nothing of any high literary value in the song. It is just a crazy rhythm but because of its simplicity and perhaps due to setting good tune and music it has attained great popularity now. But it is not going to be any long-lasting one or moving or motivating one. People will forget it in no time.

A music should touch the chord of the person who hear it. Kolaveri has that quality. it is not "talaffus" that make a song great, but it is the "feeling" that make it enjoyable. If Javed Akhtar think that only he and his chelas can write good lyrics, he is mistaken. Who said this song wont last? It already have 2 million hits. How many of the so called best music had even 1 million hit up to now? Understanding the pulse and writing is what a writer has to do. By writing something which people need to look dictionary to understand the meaning is not the only writing. He is actually jealous.
