Raja Sen - you moron

What sht review you wrote idiot. Who exactly are you? You mostly resemble the female movie critic in this film, depthless herself but cruel towards hapless heroines. If you do have to write such hyperbolic criticism why don't you take some serious movie and do it. Who is interested in these overarching criticisms and hyperbolic comments. We are just interested in the movie and if it can entertain us. You watch the movie - it has told clearly - entertainment, entertainment, entertainment. This movie works because of - Vidya Vidya Vidya. There you are right - but the boobshowing was required of this role. You definitely have no right to criticize her on this point since the character she played was all about cheap sx. And you are watching a Bollywood movie - not a Kurosawa masterpiece. Keep your expectations realistic moron - and then you can judge.

I have watched you write great reviews about SRK movies - all of them pieces of sht. I doubt if you write these reviews from a neutral perspective or you take a biased role highlighting some actors/actresses over others. You know what - you are clearly the movie critic depicted in this movie. A dull bore and a complete fool.

Rediff - when I read this part : " There are long and painfully .." Arrrgh. Agony, despair and anguish. There is time now to rethink Raja Sen's commentary and his role as a serious movie critic. Who does he think he is? Please get another reviewer - please. We want something sane.

Raja - sham

Poor Raja Sen... Just his name as a reviewer is enuf to heat up the argument in people.... Mr. french Cuisine.. supposedly you did not read the entire review before commenting on Review... Raja has not written against the movie, but has just criticized a few things... The entire review is more on positive end... 3.5 stars at the end is what Raja actually thinks about the movie.. read it if you fail to make logic with English grammar written above... not sure who is a moron here ... :)

No No - I read the whole thing Raja wrote. I read it again today - still dont make any sense to me. As a reviewer he should be as straightforward as possible so that the review is of some use to both the movie maker and movie goer. This is useful for neither one - it is just a display of his English literature and mocking skills one cannot grasp easily. I just have a feeling film critics, even if they are famous, should not be enamored of themselves. Writing a review is much easier than making a movie specially when so much work and thinking went behind it.

Surely the best movie in a while

I have to admit I am not a fan of Bollywood movies. They lack proper storytelling, imagination, creativity and acting skills. Bollywood movies are mostly about Shah Rukh Khan like mannerisms, Govinda like monkeying and Akki like idiocy. What has Bollywood given us - if you compare quality to sheer output it is almost zero. Here movies are made to show melodrama and fantasy, real life storytelling is not a feature of this industry. Sheer escapism, no depth. People have different viewpoints - but for me real cinema is about telling a real story in an entertaining way. If you take imagination and creativity out of art then Bollywood movie is what you get. I am not saying Indian movies never produced anything - there have been brilliance amidst mediocrity - but cheap entertainment is a hallmark of Bollywood. To me it signifies the general lack of intellect among Indian public. Seriously - I cannot take it more than an hour.

Anyway - have you noticed a general change of attitude in movie makers over last few years. Amir Khan gave us one good movie after another. There have been some sincere effort in making realistic movies. This one fascinated me. I watched it from beginning to end engrossed. This is Balan's performance of a lifetime. But I am most proud to say it has these components I miss in Bwood:
1. A real life story, a tragedy, told in an entertaining way
2. Leading lady - a woman makes the movie click
3. Great acting with strong story

Jai Ho - Go Indian movies!
