Dumb, half witted people with knowledge of English just enough for a Grade 2 are criticizing Raja Sen for his literary prose. Hey morons, if you don't understand quality English, read a cheap Mid-day article. I might not agree with Raja on his certian views, but no doubt he knows the classy language. Even we have adulterated English like in Kolavari-Di... but still there are real people loving and writing real English. Come out of the well of ignorance. Other than our population we are not in any positive top 10 list. Please admire people who has some creativity and positivity.

Do not think who criticized Raja are all moron and you are in bunch of group who understand so called "classy" English. This review is for all readers and writer should understand his target. If his or yours test is so rich then better read/write novels where you have choice to read or not.

Problem is not with using classy language per se. It is the attempt to mask a mediocre movies and performances by writing about them in an elegant language that irritates people.
If this film is about the life and times of vijayalakshmi alias silk smita, then casting naseeruddin shah as a movie star is a masterstroke. Why ? because to a north indian director, Mr. Shah is a perfect carcaiture of a typical sixty year old southern star playing around with a 20 something heroine which is common in southern films. The cartoonish acting with the grotesque neck-skin folds are there on purpose. Unfortunately, southies are too dumb to realise that it ridicules their preference. I wish raja was smart enough to highlight this in his review. Now, you psuedo secular morons, go for it.
Raja Sen needs to get off the English composition class and Victorian penchant for heavy words and write in a readable manner. I am sure UK or US papers would reject his pieces for being too word heavy.
