When will rediff improve.......
by Chintu on Aug 14, 2011 07:02 PM  | Hide replies

Shammi Kapoor was a legend of the 60s and 70s....Instead of getting comments from his colleagues and friends, rediff is publishing silly tweets from publicity hungry two bit starlets.....Rediff is making a tamasha of the death of one of India's most loved superstars......

Yes, see who is saying ALL manipulative ones. It is not tamasha of rediff, rediff is part of all tamasha everyday we see.

Deewar and Chembur Refygee Camp 1947
by RN DHAWAN on Aug 14, 2011 06:57 PM  | Hide replies

I have been Shammi,s fan since 1947 when i saw him in DEEWAR, (Drama staged by Prithvi theaters) as a thin lean boy about 15 yrs old.
He has ever been my favorite.
Yes i remember it was raining and we young children were picked up in a bus from Chembur refugee camp and treated with the Drama and a good meal. The present generation who has not seen the pangs of hunger may not realize that such acts of kindness leave ever lasting memories. Before the start of the play complete KAPOOR KHANDAN was lined up and greeted each one of us personally.

His Soul will always be with US
by Hussaini Brahminism on Aug 14, 2011 06:35 PM

One of the hippy and desi Rock and Roll icon , bollywood ever produced. May his soul rest in peace with blissful life in heaven of almighty.

We should convert his tomb into a cultural icon destination like Durgah and Dwara.

Shammiji , loves Meerut, Agra, Kolkata and Ajmeer more than any other Bollywood actors and actresses.

Would be good to start one Durgah to generate wealth and tourism with the blessings of Mamata Benerjee in Kolkata.
