What has made this author in categorizing the movies "Mawaali (Ruffian) and Justice Choudhury (self-explanatory)under B-grade classics !!!".What is the yardstick? (B-grade / B-grade classics, etc.!!!)

TRUE, HOW DO THEY DEFINE A GRADE AND B GRADE. MAWALI AND JUSTICE CHOUDHARY HAD A GRADE STAR CAST. MAWALI HAD SRIDEVI , JAYA PRADA AND JEETENDRA, JUSTICE CHOUDHARY HAD JEETENDRA, SRIDEVI, MOUSMI, HEMA MALINI. PRODUCTION HOUSE WAS GOOD, MUSIC WAS GOOD,EVERYTHING WAS GOOD ABOUT THE MOVIE, THAT WAS THE WAY MOVIES WERE MADE THEN , THOUGH THEY WERE NOT CLASSICS BUT STILL MANAGED TO EARN MONEY AND GET THE CAREER STARTED FOR ACTORS LIKE SRIDEVI.

Could not agree more. Esp...That was the way movies were made those days and managed to entertain people as all these movies were BO successes. How can you call a movies starring Jeetendra, Hema Malini and SRIDEVI a B Grade?? All the 3 actors are definitely among the most successful actors in the history of Bollywood.

First the title itself is nonsence. Why should I know Alam Ara. It was for my grand father. Same is the case for DD.

Bappi Lahiri is a third rate COPY CAT
by rk singh on Apr 06, 2011 06:46 AM  | Hide replies

all his songs are direct/shameless copies from existing disco tunes of that time. He is an embrassment to the country. Disco dancer is a pathetic movie, shame that a good actor like mithun is associated with these movies.

Bappi is the biggest copy cat!!

"Also, 'Jai ho.' I did 'Ramba ho' in 1985. Rahman combined three of my songs and got Best Original Score. The 'Ho' came from me. Who brought it? Bappi Lahiri brought the ho to Bollywood."
All we can see here is the 'I-am-kinda-big-deal' attitude of Bappi.. His famous number 'Zooby Zooby' is a direct lift of song 'Brother Louie' by German band 'Modern Talking'... He's jealous of Rahman and that has made him blind.
