Shabana Azmi and her hubby Javed Akhtar are narrow minded Jodi no.1. When ever Muslim is in trouble...whether he is right or wrong...she along with her husband Javed comes out of her house and starts giving their pseudo intellectual views and full support. Whether its zero actor SRK's anti national comments or a Muslim actor not getting a flat in Mumbai issue or M.F.Hussein's nude painting controversy. She should learn secularism or be the narrow minded Jodi no1.
Though she has worked in Art films with progressive creative team...she is still narrow minded and only raise her voice with Muslim related things. Why?

Look at Smita Patil. She married a Muslim inspite of being a Hindu & followed Integrity in the true sense. Also, she was ten times more talented & successful than Shabana (who's just become a Show-Off rather than continue to be a true artist.)

Untwist ur mind b4 u speak deepak. Shabana and her husband Javed Akhtar are SECULRISTS TO THE CORE. To the disgusting hindu fanatics on these pages it is only this gutsy couple's unwavering stand against murderers like narendra modi that catches their twisted mind, and they pretend not to notice their equally staedfast views against muslim fanatics the world over. javed saab also received a fatwa by muslim fanatics so did shabana some time back and they continue to live under a death threat. As true seculariste (read humans), we must respect people like javed-shabana on their truly humanistic approach to life which is irrespective of caste creed or religion. May there be more people like javed and shabana for a better world.
I dont know her choice of roles but i know that she is a artsy fartsy types. But how much is the below comment by "thisthat" is true. Azmi is known for her secular (promuslim) views lately but I cant think she was picking roles carefully even earlier ?

First learn what secular means b4 opening ur rotten mouth. Secular means worldly things or things that are not regarded as religious: so secular is a state of being unbiased towards any religion which u dont seem to have as u r biased towards ur own religion and against other religions like islam and christianity.

her best performance is in Fire; really apprecaitable and adoring one. Best example for indian women to follow it. for that she deserve national award.
