I think Rehman and all his FANS needs an introspection. Do you really feel that this song will create that Euphoria that was created by Shakira's Waka Waka.
No. It will not. I admire Rehman alot. But this time he failed completely.
Let us accept it. It look more like a Film Song and not a Song for a Sporting Event like CWG.
Even retaining his "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire would have been good investment than creating a new one.
CRAP Creation for CWG. Another failure in CWG Preparations
Kalmadi must have got a major share of the 5crore package.Obviously if the music composer quotes at the most one or two crore but is asked/infuenced/pressurised to inflate the price it would not go down well with him. If you get only 1 or 2 crores ( CWG officials pocket the rest) but in view of the common man you got 5crores and not just 1-2 crore. It would hurt your reputation and image. If something hurts a composer he might not feel inspired to compose that well. Further he may purposely compose something that would not be good.As of now only Kalmadi seems to like the song.
Seems a bit unbelievable that Rahman would offer this song after claiming that he would do better than Shakira's anthem.
Still whatever happened somewhere Rahman is also to be blamed. If CWG officials asked him to quote an inflated rate,it was his call whether to do so or not. further comparisons with other musicians is a bit un-Rahman like, usually music scores for itself.
Anyway what is really true is that the corruption laden CWG got the theme it deserves. I would never wish that these games get any better music ,something that would be at par with Jai Ho or Waka waka.
We salute you Rahman for such a wonderful song. The Rahman bashers are here we know, but we don't mind that coz, as all know your music is always a 'whisky' effect, it will just grow on you and then you will never stop singing. Same criticism came when the huge 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' was released and see that now. There was never an Independence day or Republic day were all the songs go live either thru radio or all tv channels after 'Vandemataram' was released. As far as Rs.6 cr is concerned, we know how big you pay (and the most by any musicians around the world) for your group of singers and musicians....and here we again Salute you sir.
its actually nice. People are going over the top in criticism. But definitely I dont agree with the huge amount charged, though it wud be shared by him, his musicians, technicians, etc..
Rahman seems to be living a Jai Ho life. Give the most humblest man an Oscar and he to forgets humility. Firstly he charges 6 crores for a song which is supposed to be a national sporting Anthem. He comes up with a song which even the train singers would refuse to sing. Any ways Rahman's songs are always too much techno and excessive usage of digitized mistures. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy would have come up with a great anthem, which would linger on people's mind for a while.

I don't think he must have got 5 crores.. May be as usual CWG must have inflated the accounts.. As a follower of Rahmanism, I know very well that he must have charged less than 50 lakhs.. He is not speaking out as he may not wish to start a new controversy.. He will surely come up with the facts once the games are over.. Jai Ho Rahman
this song is nice..like all other ar rahman songs..this will become superhit after a few hearings... AR rahman songs wont attract on first hearing...But it will stay for ever.
