Even though KBC got a TRP rating of 5, it still is nowhere when compared to Bigg Boss... Dont forget, even after co inciding ith CW games opening cermony, it still got TRP of around 4, which is pretty high compared to Katron ke khiladi. Bigg Boss was able to even attract viewers who were glued to CWG which is a big thing considering that CWG is an internationl extravengza. So, even after KBC not getting any competition from anywhere, it only managed 5. Also, KBC is a family show which can be watched by all ages. But Bigg Boss has age limitations. Not every family will encourage to watch the show. It was bcoz of Salman that the show really shot up. So, here ends the comparision....Had Bigg Boss got such clean run, I bet it wuld have set standards pretty high for KBC to even match up...

Big Boss has 10 other celeberities apart from Salman Khan. KBC has one who is equivalent to 100 celebreties in big boss including salman khan

Do you think the movies churned out by Rajni like Shivaji, Baba, Basha, Arunachalam etc., are masterpieces? Have u seen the first fight sequence in Chandramukhi? How ridiculous and funny he can be. Any sensible and matured viewer would not like to watch such silly stuff. And box office is for masses like Riskhaw pullers in Chennai for whom Rajni is a god
Re: Re: Re: Re: 1982-2010

YOu mean to say rikshawallahs in north dont watch films?
No one called any movie 'master piece'. The fact remains that Big B has been dishing flops and Rajini blockbusters thereby 1) Ensuring his producers and distributors make Return on Investment, and 2) He gets paid several times what BigB and other stars make in Hindi film industry EVEN THOUGH TAMIL CINEMA's audience IS SO MUCH SMALLER THAN HINDI FILM INDUSTRY.

"Setu u didnt get my point. Rajni's movie r purely for frontbenchers unlike Amitabh's. They r watched n liked by both mass and class"
LOL...am sure you are talking about Amitabhs movies from the 70s!
Welcome to the present world. The world has moved 40 years from the 70s.
So if the 'mass and class' all love AB movies, why are they all flops.
And if only front benchers love Rajini movies, why are they all making profits for his producers. Do you mean to say Rajini's movies run in theaters which have front benches only :)

LOL..Nagraj you still dont get it. YOur quote:
"Yes RGV ki Aag is a ridiculous movie. When I quoted Chandramukhi's fight sequence, i was not quoting an exception. Its the norm with Rajni's movies i.e., silly n ridiculous style (!!!) AB has dignity in his acting"
this quote is ridiculous.
All I said is for all his fans tom toming his so called 'talent' Big B has been churning flops.
Say what you want about Rajinikanth, the man churns out hits on a consistent basis.
Say what you want about Big B, the man churns out flops on a consistent basis. (All his 'class' and 'mass' and so called 'dignified acting' does not translate to hits, which is surprising dont you think).

LOL...good one. Very true and that is the true genius of Rajinikanth...short dark and ordinary looks, and is no Kamal Hasan in the acting arena.
Yet that man mesmerises a huge fan following who worship him. His on screen and off screen person, his humility, and his charitable activities (giving over 70% of his income to charities) have carved out a huge fan following. His dialogue delivery and ability to time gestures, comic acts etc make seemingly innocuous and ordinary scenes look riveting.
What you forgot to mention in your imaginary anecdote is that not only did he act in the most costly Indian movie, Rajinikanth has been bringing back huge profits for his producers and distributors, by churning out blockbusters.
Amitabh had belted blockbusters in the 70s and early 80s, but for over 23 years he has been consistently giving super flops or flops.
Re: Re: 1982-2010
by Nagaraj on Oct 13, 2010 12:50 PM
hmmmm Should we bother whether he gives charity or not or whether he is humble or not (for that matter most South Indian actors are humble). we are only concerned with his screen appearance and the rest is irrelevant. Rajni is no comparison to AB
Re: Re: Re: 1982-2010
by Setu Madhavan on Oct 13, 2010 12:56 PM
LOL...so the fact that AB has been giving flops for most of 23 years does not matter as well, right?
Re: Re: 1982-2010
by Nagaraj on Oct 13, 2010 08:56 PM
If what matters u is just hits n flops to judge a person's acting abilities or screen persona, yes thats the end of the story. I am also from South, but live in Mumbai. I am sorry to say my kids r being made fun of just cos of this joker called Rajnikant, as their friends think all the south indian movies r full of this kind of bafoonery, which unfortunately is not true. Though I have great respect for Kamal Hasan n other such good actors. I am surprised even intelligent people like u support this god of front benchers. By the way, front benchers doesnt literally mean those who sit in the front LOL (copied ur expression). U will find them now even in balcony. a big LOL

just goes to show how great amitabh is. even after giving flops for 23 years (as per your expert knowledge), he is still going great guns & till date is the biggest star India has ever seen & will ever see.

True.Today's only superstar in India with assured return on investment is Rajni. You cannot be as sure either on Aamir,SRK,Salman or Akshay as you can see their big budget films like Veer,Blue bombed.Rajni guarantees return on investment and Shankar ventured to produce Robot only after studying the all India return pattern of 'Sivaji-the boss'
Good start for KBC-4 but the show needs to inject some more entertainment/humor into it for it to maintain or improve upon the ratings. But I believe KBC-4 will be a success for Sony TV. After all, its AB

True. Plus we see participants from small towns participating and that has obviously attracted more viewers from there
Re: Amitabh a nowhere.

boss, you take the cake for sure. Without even commenting on your comparisons, I would just request you to catch an episode of KBC. You will be enchanted by the warmth and wit of Mr.Bachchan. No one, I repeat no one can host a quiz show with such charishma and humility. Please let the media do its work, enjoy KBC, unless you have something personal against its host. You'll enjoy it nonetheless.

I was wondering where Mithun's name came from, then noticed ur name, and now understood ! Muahahahahahahahaha. Get a life man ! Ur desperately saying that he is nobody is not going to work for others. For us and many others he is a legend and will continue to be. Only losers can crib when even figures show how popular he is.
Re: Re: Amitabh a nowhere.

Sanath I do agree with you absolutely. His name chakraborty only made him say this because mithun stands nowhere even closer to shahrukh,AB is far away.Shahrukh has been by media otherwise he is good for nothing except chocolate face and stammering delivery.AB is a institute in him self and all others are students there. Only losers can crib when even figures show how popular he is.

KaleCrow!
Amitabh is known by the whole world for the cultural image he has not the filmy.
Jaya is fortunate to have Amitabh as husband. You are speaking as if she gave a personal interview to you.
Prithvi Raj Kapoor too has worked with his daughter in laws, that is 40 years back. Now it looks that you certainly are orthodox person with no pure conscience and character. Or your upbringing has some faults! Father in law and daughter in law relation is like Father and daughter.
Every one in this world is opportunistic! the river doesnt come to the thirsty! does it ... mr. crow?
He left Congress bcoz his father told him not to be part of Corrupt Party Congress which our blind nation has been electing for ages! Shame!
And by the way joining any party is his personal space and please go to school.

DEAR SETHU MADAHVAN ,you should spell your name correctly first. You donot know the what is hit and flop.First update your knowledge then speak.
Re: Re: Re: Big B
by Setu Madhavan on Oct 13, 2010 12:11 PM
LOL...Thank you for telling me how MY name is should be spelt.
I am sure the northie 'sakool' that you went to never told you anything about 'proper nouns'.
So let me take a quick refresher for you. There is no 'gold standard' to which people's names can be measured. For example, Rajendra Kumar is how you write it. Another person may have the name 'Rajindra Kumar', another one may write his name as 'Raajendra Kumaar'. All of them are valid, and none are INCORRECT. Why? Because an individual's name is the way it is. Unlike names of places which are more standard - because there are no 1000 places called Mumbai or Delhi, unlike individuals, they are standard names. So spelling it as Moombai or Bingalore is considered incorrect.
Back to your point about Big B giving superhits over the last 23 years...you need to come to the world of reality...Big B is the first person to acknowledge that his era of the 70s when he belted superhits and blockbusters is long gone.
Desperate fans like you cling on the fantasies. Grow up.
The genius of Rajinikanth is that despite being 60plus he continues to churn blockbuster hits (for the most part) all of which ride on his shoulder and presence.
Why else do you think Rajinikanth is the highest paid actor in Asia after jackie Chan? Because his movies rake in the moolah time and time again.
Re: Re: Re: Big B
by Setu Madhavan on Oct 13, 2010 11:25 AM
YOu may not like Rajinikanth but he has been giving blockbuster hits more often than not...even at this age!
Amitabh was great during his zanjeer, Sholay days, but for over 2 decades he has been belting super flops. Accept reality.

I am sorry that you had a headache after watching Robot, but for that you must visit your doctor. I cant help you.
HOwever, millions of other moview goers seem to be watching and enjoying the movie without headaches. Box office numbers do not lie, unlike people who post on online forum.
LOL...so you say Rajinikanth who acts in Tamil movies, acted in a few Hindi movies like Andha Kanoon etc decades ago, and they werent blockbusters/hits. LOL...you seem to have no problem about Amitabh giving flops consistently IN HINDI films (not Tamil or telugu or Malayalam) for the last 20 years. I am talking about his own Hindi film industry.
LOL...you dig up over 20 yrs to say that Rajinikanth's foray into Hindi decades ago was not successful, but conviniently overlook the cascade of super flops Big B has been giving ...
Are you telling me that Big B would be a super duper hit in Tamil cinema like Rajinikanth or MGR or Kamal Hasan? Obviously not!
Compare what Rajinikanth and Big B are doing in their respective industries TODAY. Who is brining back the megabucks to his producers?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Big B

Rajnikant is giving b'buster hits but remember his almost hits are either AB B'BUSTERS or dharmendra or dev anand and others.

YOu Tussi mainus need to wake up! Big B has been giving flops for over 20 years now. gone are his days of Sholay, Zanjeer, Amar Akbar Anthony etc.
If you call him the undisputed Shehanshah then that in itself is telling about the absolute lack of talent in Bollywood.
No wonder then that Rajinikanth's movies are big hits even in the north.
Ask yourself a question, when was the last time that Amitabh gave a super duper blockbuster on his own merit?

aiyyo anna, why r u always bringing rajni in between everything? there was absolutely no need to bring the topic of rajni in this forum. only goes to show how desperate u r to prove to the world that rajni is better than everybody else.
the fact is u will never stop supporting rajni & we (big b fans) will never stop supporting amitabh. both of them are legends in their own right & cannot be compared.

Let me copy paste the question once again:
"Ask yourself a question, when was the last time that Amitabh gave a super duper blockbuster ON HIS OWN MERIT?" (In other words like Zanjeer and others...something that Rajinikanth still does today thereby earning several times what Big B earns per movie)
