why this comparision
by parvaiz khan on Oct 13, 2010 02:12 PM

I can not understand why people keep on comparing, none of these actors are International celebreties, even in India people worships their regional actors, these actors do not have consistensy like sachin, there strike rate of hit/flop movies are poor except amir khan.

Whether it is AB or SRK (both of them are bakwas). Just go and watch the programme 'Nanu Iruvude Nimagagi' in ZEE Kannada, hosted by Actor Shivaraj Kumar on every Monday and Tuesday. You people will love it. He literally brings joys to the needy people. I am not Kannadiga but still I like the programme then any reality show. God bless Shivaraj Kumar. I know every Tom, Dick and Harry will gives non-sense reply.

The man who changed Indian entertainment!
by Rizwan Khan on Oct 13, 2010 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

He changed cinema. The rest just copied him. (srk, rajnikanth, etc etc have copied his movies to achieve success)

He changed indian television. No star before him would go on TV he was the first. In 2000 he changed indian television to a level never seen before. The TRPS of KBC1 have gone down in history of indian television. Today every star goes on TV. Amitabh was the first who showed and opened doors.

This man has been the biggest impact on indian entertainment since the last 40years. Anyone that does not agree is just jealous or lieing!

Absolutely correct Rizwan.I agree hundred percent with you.He is the most decent Anchor i have ever seen.He is the master of Indian cinema for sure.He treads way and every one follow. Many actors accept this fact.Actors down south have great respect to this legend of cinema. If you clearly observe even legendary actors like NTR and Shivaji ganeshan used to remake films of Amitabh way back in 70's 80's.He is legend and encyclopedia of cinema industry, and that is period.

He changed how we watch TV shows in india! KBC1 became a national craze where every household would watch. THis has never happened EVER for a tv show in india before. Today all stars are jumping on the bandwagon trying to copy.

Amitabh Bachchan changed the landscape of indian entertainment from cinema to Tv.

AB is too greedy...
by Tipsy Pillai on Oct 13, 2010 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

Unlike many other superstars who had much better run him is still hanging on to glamour, fame and money.

Hope he gets some sense and does understand that there's more filth in his profession than good and does some penance and good work for all those side-sins committed in his quest for fame.

Yesterday I saw the 2nd episode of KBC, and it seems Amitabh was doing paid promotion work for Gujarat since he is new brand ambassador of Gujarat after his friend amar singh and wife was kicked out of UP. the guy who was sitting in hot seat was talking n talking, although he did MA, but claiming that something he has done extra ordinary in life. I was watching the clock and it took 47 minute (including break time) just to finish 2 initial question, then time over and again today he will be dancing garba with John Abraham.

KBC is not just a game show, but it’s a show to check our IQ ability too, that is why people love to sit with their family members to enhance their GK. So please Amit Ji, stop doing nonsense and stick to the basics of KBC.You have plenty of time to promote Gujarat in TV add.

Do you really believe teh grey goatee is a rage in South Asia...India, Nepal and Bangladesh (Maybe the mullah in Bangladesh sport goatees, but that may be due to religious reasons, so I will grant you that much).

This 'wax statue' in Madam Tussaud's museum is another hype. It is actually an unimpressive musueum - I have been there - and they have virtually anybody in there...Saddam Hussien, to porn stars... I personally think Big B is much bigger than Madam Tussaud's and if anything Madam Tussaud's should consider it an honor having Big B's statue and not the other way round.

LOL...to some of your points...they were almost a joke.

What is this "First Indian star whose biography was written by a British author".

LOL..friend anyone can write a Biography. Dont show your inferiority and awe about white skin here. The woman who wrote Big B's biography, is not a famous writer, she was a British girl who came to know about Amitabh through her Indian Friends in London and wanted to meet him and kept pestering Amitabh with fan mail...eventually he agreed to meet her in a Mumbai hotel, where she told him that she wanted to write his life story and he reluctantly agreed...at one point going against his earlier decision and threatening her with a lawsuit.

So dont get so thrilled that an unknown British woman attempted to write about Big B's life, and that his supposed to be Big B's accomplishment! If anything you are disgracing Big B by including that as his achievement (which I think is the intent of this Mega list).

Next, "First Indian star to work as lead male in more than 100 films in 20 years or less since the launch of his career". THAT is wrong.

Infact I remember Big B asking a question in KBC about the Indian actor who till this day holds the Guiness World REcord for acting in most number of films as the male lead. (The answer is PREM NAZIR...who I believe acted in close to 500 films of which 480 were as male lead in a career spanning 30 years in Malayalam cinema).

LOL..Raj dont get so defensive. All I said is that you got your fact wrong about AB having maximum movies as male lead.

That does not mean that 1. Prem Nazir must have biographies written for his record to stand.

2. Who told you that Prem Nazir does not have biographies written.

Stop obsessing about film stars. Yes AB is a great star, but dont make your life revolve around him, to such an extent that if some one comes in and corrects you for quoting an incorrect piece of statistic/record, you would have to come up with something to pull that person down.

Why this fight
by rajeev kumar on Oct 13, 2010 12:02 PM  | Hide replies

As far as Rajnikanth and AB are concerned, both have deepest regards for each other. Rajnikanth also agrees that his early success has been due to remake of AB films (not taking away the credit of Mr Kant).
Similarly we should respect both legends. No one can take away the work that they have done and everyone respect them for that. So please do not create a north south divide.
