agree with that, someone like sonu nigam would have been the better choice. rahman could have shared the stage with his keyboard.

You would be more happy. But i don;t think AR Rehman will be happy speaking hindi. He is happy only in Tamil.

Well he does sings well in Hindi; However for speech he is not that much comfortable so he uses english as you wont understand tamil.

This always happens in every show dear; You cannot risk such big stage with floppy performance.
people forget that that money would include cost of lyricist, technicians, equipment, staging, promotion - everything. this one was more demanding than the average film single.
its all but a medium sized film album.
rahman in his inimitable style has chosen to stay quiet and not defend himself like say an Anu Malik. 'Lets barks dogs do their job'.
His live performance on the day was extraordinary and truly of international calibre (except for the illadvised ad-lib at the end) - there is very few if any indian artiste who could pull it off live with such gusto.
rahman is a true indian brand ambassdor - one of the few indian faces known globally post oscars, all in all, i say we got good value for the money
