ignore the rants - raham has made us proud

people forget that that money would include cost of lyricist, technicians, equipment, staging, promotion - everything. this one was more demanding than the average film single.

its all but a medium sized film album.

rahman in his inimitable style has chosen to stay quiet and not defend himself like say an Anu Malik. 'Lets barks dogs do their job'.

His live performance on the day was extraordinary and truly of international calibre (except for the illadvised ad-lib at the end) - there is very few if any indian artiste who could pull it off live with such gusto.

rahman is a true indian brand ambassdor - one of the few indian faces known globally post oscars, all in all, i say we got good value for the money

Well probably Rehman got only 1 crore and rest to our Hero Kalmadi; Who knows he might have charged Rehman different taxes for the performance.

Sunit Kumar
Rahman !!
by Sunit Kumar on Oct 07, 2010 03:46 AM  | Hide replies

He is a great musician, especially Roja, Rangilla and so many.

Whether he deserved an Oscar, i cant say for sure because India has produced many musicians...but yes i guess he dserved it.

His CWG song was crap, no doubt about it. Let me add the following, just because Picaso as a painter was great, does not mean that a line drawn by picaso is a masterpiece, but in today's world it will be....its not individual to judge !!! It's like saying "she is the most beautifull person in the world".... really ? what's beauty ?

That Ring-Ring ringa song of Slumdog millanior is rip off from Lakshmi -Kant pyarelal's song.

Jai ho is below average.

Rehman produced his finest music in late 90s like for Taal but once he is famous he has only produced mediocre music.

Hmm
Re: Re: Rahman !!
by Hmm on Oct 10, 2010 08:24 PM
hey it is not really rip-off..
Danny wanted to reuse chli ke peeche song and Rahman used same singers and made it sound different/better and suitable for family audience.. a music director having a say to that level itself is great..
