Just came back home after watching Endhiran.Full credit to Shankar. It is a movie with a difference and is worth watching excpt for the last 30 min where it gets a bit stressing and monotonus. Gaekwad saheb is brilliant as usual but not much scope for him to show his style and no Punch dialogue.All in all a decent movie.

Any story on this site and immediately starts of a 'North Indian' vs. 'South Indian' fight. Do the so-called North Indians and South Indians really believe they are better than the other, simply by being born in a different part of the same country? In this specific case, Rajnikanth movies - are undoubtely entertaining. In the same way that Amitabh, Mammootty or Chiranjeevi has a set of fans, Rajnikanth also does. Like it or not, his fan base is larger. He might not be as well built as Salman Khan or a great dancer as Hrithik or even a great actor as Kamal Hassan or Mammootty, but he's a real entertainer, for his fans. Shankar has created magic in 'Endhiran' and that along with Rajnikanth's presence - will ensure this will be the largest grosser in Indian cinema for some time. Just try and appreciate it rather than cursing each other.

Rajini is loved equally off screen as much as on screen for his mere simplicity. He is just simply down to earth and never thrusts anyone for his self improvement. There had been losses in one film in the past - baba. He did return back the distributors money. No one's going to complain him nor does he get any negative implication in his star ratings if he doesn't... he is just a man of heart. Producers of robot seemed to be doubtful about the revenues from the film initially. Rajini had offered to receive salary one and only if the film makes it big in the box office, when compared to actors who never move their finger without any advance. Further he does lots of goodies to the poor through his fan clubs on a regular basis. he has even written off few of his commercial properties in the name of his fan clubs and trusts for the benefit of poor.

Just a day ago...i think it was ndtv...im not so sure.... they were showing masalas about akshay kumar surpassing the so called gimmicks by Rajini as is widely believed to be... they were showing a clip where akshay was catching a flight by running... Plz stop these comparisions...

Okay let me explain it further for your semi literate air head. RajasTHan is often written as TH, while Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazhakstan etc only have Tan. Now which is correct, which is not? Is it because Rajasthanis speak with a thick accent?

Yes...but certainly cannot be flushed in with this extent and no producer will have guts to do so even if it sharukh or kamal... this film requires Shankar's perfectionism in collab with Rajini's mass appeal... even if one is left out... this would be a flop...

Can you beleive this, there are no real figures for this film. All figures are madeup by tamils. Atleast we have boxoffice sites abroad which monitor figures.
In the UAE, robot has been beaten by Anjana Anjani how shamefull is that? lol
Anjaana Anjaani scored in UAE while Robot could not make much impact. Endhiran (Tamil) scored hugely on a limited release. The daily weekend figures were as follows.

looks like you forgot to add telugu collections. there are more telugu people than any other region in bay area, dallas (10% of population as per u.s.census), atlanta, florida, new jersey and all the theaters were advance booked and running houseful shows.
AVATAR was only movie for which i stood in line. ROBOT is the only indian movie till now. watched almost 50 movies here in theatres.

Q. Is it true that Endhiran will gross more than Three Idiots in India and be biggest grosser in India? A. No, the gross business will be well short of Three Idiots. In the South a lot is hearsay as collections from actual theatres are not seen. Endhiran is expected to generate a 70-100 crore distributor share, the range is big as everything is vague, some may add the minimum guarantees from theatres to share while others don't, its hard to say what is correct. Accurate figures in the South will only come when cash calls reduce and we have a big sample of theatre collections. Even if we take the 100 crore share at face value and assume its all been collected from theatres the actual gross is around 140 crore as there is no entertainment tax in Tamil Nadu for films with a Tamil name and most collections are coming from single screens. Three Idiots grossed 270 crore which is nearly double, Dabangg will do 190 crore plus, Ghajini was 155 crore even Gadar way back in 2001 did 130 crore which is not far off Endhiran. Basically Endhiran will be the fourth biggest grosser in India if we take its 100 cr to be correct and if we count all its regional dubbed versions then it may possible challenge Dabangg for second place. Three Idiots gross total is safe by a distance.
