People here are saying that movie performs well in USA. But what abt indian spectators..? Kites is targeted to impress international market but they forgot to impress people in India.
IF THE MOVIE IS RELEASED IN BOLLYWOOD, THAT MUST BE FOR INDIAN SPECTATORS ALSO.

agree with you,it is a good movie with some flaws but stii worth to watch and I think barbara has given excellent performance.
The second biggest opening. In US watched by non desis too. What a comment by rediff. Oh I forgot there is no khan in this movie. Mat be that's a reason.

Rediff needs a name change.. either Re-Deaf or Read-If might suit better.
Whether a movie runs or flops is up to masses but giving a verdict in 2 days is inhuman.
We had great movies in recent past like A Wednesday, Black Friday, 1971 etc made by newcomers and biased reviews didn't helped so they never became super-hit. But those were much better movies in last 10 years or so.
I watched Kites and I liked the new experiment of Bollywood meeting hollywood. Everything looked so normal, emotional if these biased reviewers watch them that way with the flow. They are so addicted to b-grade dancing/ singing/ weeping with masala that they can't look beyond that. I must say, they need to grow up.
As far as SRK vs rest issue... In my lifetime I have watched many movies. SRK was good in Swades and Chak De.. rest were really not up to mark. And he doesn't rule my heart at least.. there are many actors who will act better than SRK in their sleep.

I have pested some links of reputed midiahouses which said "Kites fly high". but was blocked. these people dont want trth to be exposed.
